East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

My Own Form Of CHAOS

I turn my gaze to Isolt as she looks into her drink, professing that the knife gifted to her by Davante is beautiful.

"I don't doubt such a thing from knowing the crafter but I bet it doesn't hold a candle to it's new owner."

My lips tug into a more gentle smile only for her before I look back at Davante, sure that he's ready to puke from all the charm in this room. She remains silent through most of our banter but as I hand out the pieces of cake, I can see the new twinkle in her eyes. As I hand her a plate, I give her a playful wink seen only by her because I'm sure she knows what's in the cake seeing as how I made it for us to indulge in. I also know that she's a little awkward about eating human food now that she's immortal but I'm hoping to slowly help her overcome that with all my vampire-friendly sweets I've been cooking up. I make them for the pub as well but I'm always careful to leave one or two new things for her alone to try in the comfort of her office.

I glance at her from the corners of my eyes none the less even while watching and waiting for Davante to taste the cake, my eyes unable to stray from her for too long. When she finally does put the cake on her tongue, the movement is almost too swift for the human eye to follow. Of course I'm no human. My lips twitch in amusement at the gesture but I can tell instantly by her expression that the cake passed the taste test. She purrs that it's wonderful and I hold up my glass of Bourbon.

"I'm glad you like it."

Meanwhile, Davante knits his brows together at my comment about being socially acceptable. I learned early on in our encounters that he doesn't like vampires and yet I find him in my presence more and more. Seems he likes my company and I must add I don't detest his so much either. I chuckle under my breath and shake my head.

"I'll take it to my grave, Davante. Oh, wait...been there, dug through that."

I offer my characteristic smirk, eyes twinkling in a joking manner. I turn my gaze back to him when he tells me I can't plead the fifth and once again his jokes are my entertainment. I shrug.

"And yet the cops still seem to think they need to call me about jury duty all the freaking time. What the hell, right?"

I raise a brow at him next when he brings up everything being fabulous.

"I guess I'll have to take your word for it because I'm not about to get you on a pole to find out."

The smirk I give him is playful. I could definitely go on like this all night with him. I guess I never knew hanging out with a warlock could be so...fun. I get my next entertaining notion when I hand him the cake. He's not too good at hiding his distaste, his nose and lips wrinkling already and he hasn't even gotten a good whiff of it. He pokes at it with his fork and I smirk.

"You know while the blood could be considered fresh, I promise the cake was good and killed before I thought to serve it."

I do like teasing him. Then he puts it to his tongue and automatically he spits it out. I watch with a grin on my face as it sails right out the door and over the balcony. I hear an uproar downstairs and wonder who it hit but I'm not about to get up and go look. That would be too suspicious. Instead I look at Isolt, sure that she'll be concerned and I dismiss it with a wave of my hand so she doesn't get up to go check either.

"It'll be fine. Staff can handle it."

I assure her. I crack up laughing as he goes off, both brows rising as he hints that disgusting things have been in his mouth. He turns to Isolt, questioning her taste buds and I choke out through my continued laughter.

"No, no, they're dead, get it right. Now what about these disgusting things that have been in your mouth? Do tell."

I lean back in my chair and get comfortable before nudging my head toward the desk.

"Oh and there's plenty of cake if you want seconds. Since your piece is now someone's toupe."

I smirk. I'm sorry, I just can't help myself.
