East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Under New Management; The Garden

I walk alone, five-foot seven of skinny, blonde kid roaming the streets. My feet took me downtown today, window shopping for a job in an attempt to avoid my infuriating neighbor and pissed off landlady; evidently bounced checks are frowned upon by people looking to collect money from you. I need a job... The streets are far from empty, but even in a place as crowded as this I feel like I stand out â€" a young, short, blond kid not even old enough to (legally) buy a decent drink to distract me from my crippling unemployment and subsequent lifestyle. I'm not sure what I was expecting to find on walkabout in downtown district of this city, it's not like I can waltz into the law offices of Ditkin and Rehr and get a job off the street.

Much to my surprise, I spy a familiar red and white sign in a window across the street. A nondescript façade, a sign proudly displaying "Under New Management" and "Helf Wanted". Wait, "Helf"? Half a minute passes by before I snap myself out of the trance trying to untangle the mystery of what the helf is up with that sign. I dart across the street ignoring traffic and whatnot and press my face to the glass hoping for a better look. The place certainly has that air of changing ownership. I glance down at my getup â€" an unimpressive black jacket over a plain purple shirt that's just too small, giving way to my just-too-large jeans held up by a Slim Jim wrapper and a pair of brown, imitation-brand Pumas. Not exactly the best attire for a job interview, also I have no resume... at all. I suppose there's no harm in going in and at least inquiring about the opening; let's see what awaits in The Garden.

Slow down you crazy child
You're so ambitious for a juvenile
But then if you're so smart then tell me
why are you still so afraid?
