East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

They were distinctly different creatures, of that he was entirely assured, both radiating a confidence of sorts and yet in entirely different ways- the man finding he neither preferred one to the other, more so he found some form of intrigue in them both as he so often did with the more dominant of females. They are different here, to the women of his homeland, possessing an assurance that both pleases and yet agitates him all at once, the very nature of his animal species seeing him dance upon the precipice of tolerance and a need to dominate. For now however, he is content to maintain that veil of control he so seeks to exercise in all matters, many years spent perfecting his ability to ignore the instincts that came more naturally to himself. He cannot deny what he is, nor can he change it and yet he simply refuses to bow to it. There is a part of him, a distinctly equine part, that finds discomfort in such close proximity to a predator and yet he forces such tedious irritations aside, unwilling to validate them nor be controlled merely by what he was. He could be as entirely as powerful as any predator if merely pushed far enough. Even without that touch of his ever volatile power he had learned, else been shown early on- that not all power came from tooth or claw, Frost content to flex his muscle only when required and for now at least his newest companions have proven to be obedient enough to maintain his more...pleasant nature.

"Pleasure."

He merely offers it smoothly in response to Carolina's voicing of her moniker, her next words spoken hurriedly as if to prevent his mind coming to this realisation of the similarities between her name and the state, one eye lifting slightly beneath that thickened fringe of hair to offer some momentary hint of amusement though he sees no need to offer further words. Her name, in the end, was of little importance to him beyond something to call her by as his attention returned briefly to Dom. She was more open then the other, more willing to seize upon any little given opportunity, a bold creature, her personality again resulting in his once more comparing the women of this city to the mares of the place of his birth- such a sentence surely never uttered amongst them and yet he hardly found agitation in it. She was clever creature, at least to a certain extent, some potential value surely existing within her as he permitted something of a smile to trace his youthful features once more and her words.

"We'll see."

His word are neither rejection or acceptance of such an idea, merely a promise of sorts, a vague assurance that left much to be decided and yet Frost so rarely spoke without true purpose, meeting her gaze for a moment in some unspoken taint of humour before gesturing towards the Inner Sanctum. Dom is more eager then her companion, headstrong, perhaps- while Carolina remains...conservative, each and every action of the women observed with silent ease somewhere beneath that snowy fringe of a forelock despite the look of almost disinterest he presents all the same. Carolina is the more thoughtful of the two, that he is already assured of, the girl less motivated by the thoughts of a meal then she was at the prospect of work and even then she remained guarded. Clever creature, truly, quote potentially a valuable little edition to his own pack though for now he remains content enough to observe- lip quirking a final time in appreciation of the sarcasm she offers before moving to stroll smoothly behind the women at Dom's final jest, a table easily found within the cafe before the waitress move to hurriedly rush behind the counter, returning mere moments later with coffee and three plates of food encompassing any number of breakfast items from bacon, eggs and sausage to pancakes all piled beside. There were some perks perhaps, to his deal with Alexander, the café's owner and the single Hunter Frost had been willing enough to tolerate though he sees little need to detail the nuances of such a relationship to the women before him. After all, he and Alexander were still in disagreement over who owned who, the equine refusing to offer and true subservience to the Hunter whom in turned declined and notion of Frost's command over him- the men at a stalemate of sorts and yet one Frost was content to benefit from now.

The bacon and sausage is carefully moved to one side of his plate, the very scent near nauseating to him, his own attention more fixated upon the pancakes, one hand gesturing loosely for the women to eat should they desire to do so before that violet gaze returned smoothly to Dom.

"You asked me if I have figured it out- you are some sort of equine although what species I cannot be sure. You are no domestic breed, that I know, yet nor do you hold the scent of a mule or a donkey which leaves me with few options to consider so I will ask you outright- what species are you?"

The species, as a while, mattered particularly little to the man and yet he had found himself curious all the same, awaiting her answer before allowing his attention to shift back to Carolina- the woman in possession of at least some skill in the art of thievery and as such her potential use to him at least assured some measure of interest in her remained- though for how long would remain to be seen.

"Tell me, Carolina- how good are you at your 'borrowing', hmm? You are of little use to me if you are capable only of petty theft. I am looking for an item in particular, I know it's location and I know whom possess it and yet this will not be near so easy a task as seducing a middle-aged man. I do believe in reward for effort however- so I will make it worth your while if you believe yourself skilled enough to go against other felines."

It was that single, final point that would perhaps dispel her from the task, one eye lifting slightly as he moves to sip at his coffee, the girl potentially not skilled enough to better her own species and if so- so be it, he would look elsewhere to achieve his goals in this. If she proved unwilling then she was of no further use to him.
