The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Ain't No Rest for the The din of the café was enough to distract most individuals. As for Lyrica, her eyes remained trained carefully on the man who had appeared in front of her and taken up residence in the opposite seat. He behaved with as much poise as her immediate memory would allow her to reminisce upon, drawing her gaze to him for longer than she had initially intended to grace him. Though their histories were intertwined in too many ways to name, Lyrica felt a kind of disconnect to Vadris that was hard to put into words. There was something deep and wide between them, as if whatever they had experienced through the centuries together had ceased to exist. How peculiar it was that he had sought her out, now, with whatever motive hidden behind those eyes of his; how they should have been familiar. Instead, Lyrica's gaze was clouded for the briefest of moments as she adjusted to his presence and acknowledged his words and the ghost of his smile with a minute nod. "Utterly debatable," Lyrica replied, her ashen blonde eyebrow rising as if casually daring him to acknowledge her cynicism. And yet, instead of removing her gaze from his figure, Lyrica let her eyes linger to casually drink in the sight of Vadris' body lounging lazily in the chair in front of her. She shifted momentarily, watching as the recognition of her lie registered on his face. That, too, was explicit. His expressions were sordidly visible, at least to her. Maybe it was their years of companionship, perhaps something more, but Lyrica felt it implicitly important to keep up her charade like she had actually read the letter that had been sent to her. Did she feel guilty? No, but there was the faintest inklings of apprehension as she decided that her story would remain the same. That was, you know, until her lips betrayed her mind and the words tumbled haphazardly from them. "I didn't read it. I don't think anything of it." The truth might not bother Vadris, but surely it would alert him to the underlying issues they would need to address at some point. There was a rift... a dark, deep rift between them that Lyrica was beginning to find looming and somehow seductive. How easy it would be to fall into the clutches of that darkness, and allow any memories of the man in front of her to drain away with her. Oh, too easy. Would it be as easy to reach out and trace her long, deceptively delicate fingers along the familiar landscape of his face? Of his jaw? No... No it surely wouldn't be. That was an urge the fae would have to suppress, and she did so by licking her lips before bringing her drink to her mouth once more as if occupying the orifice might keep the silence between them. Now that, too, was probably a lie. "Are you going to explain what is in the letter? If it's important enough to draw you out of whatever cave you were hiding in, I think I might be curious..."
