East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The was a perverse pleasure in watching her struggle.

But of course there was pleasure in watching... anyone struggle.

Animal did not move from his designated distance, standing as still as a concrete statue as he watched her from afar. His body was placid, his face masked, and yet the Fae's eyes remained ablaze as he watched her fight to regain every breath. He would have liked to have seen her body crumple and fall to the earth below, but the little Fae had her delicate claws dug tightly into the wall as if it were some lifeline. Pathetic, and yet there was a part of him that knew it would take much more effort than he ever cared to exert in order to succeed in such a task. This little Fae was built like a spring, coiled like a poised cat with uncanny balance. Pity. Animal had never been a fan of felines.

The wind began to pick up around them as he waited, the anger still bubbling in the pit of his stomach. He was getting tired of her quiet arrogance, and yet somehow the lack oxygen from before did not seem to be enough of a warning for her to rid herself of the delusions that she may speak without consequence. Did she think she could speak to him in such a way simply because she was Fae? He admired his own kind like the jealous, lustful entity he was, but Animal would not tolerate her sinful illusions that she had a place here. It was a deadly little game she was playing and Wild Fae rarely played fair. A snarl ripped from his throat, that mask of hidden emotion cracking under her stupidity. What satisfaction would it bring her to know that her statement was true, but only partly? Yes, there was a terrible part of Animal that wanted her. But there was a bigger part of him that would rather see her dead.

"I want many things!" He snapped, voice rising as the wind howled appropriately around them in giant, sweeping gusts. His hunger was bottomless, greedy, and childish â€" but Animal was also cruel. He would set aside his cravings for the time being, though it was hard to decipher who exactly the punishment was for. The line was unmistakably blurred. If he left now, it would be just as painful for him as he made it for her. In a blink of an eye he was there beside her, malice seeping into those grey eyes as he hissed quietly by her ear. "You are not one of them." The words were as cold as they were strong, but the strength behind them was there to convince the both of them - not just one.

His teeth bared in frustration as his upper lip curled, his cold gaze dissipating as his body slowly broke apart into sections of black smoke that wafted away with the chilled night breeze.

have you no idea that you're in this deep?
I've dreamt about you nearly every night this week
