East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Ian still couldn't comprehend what had brought him into the city today, he knew Avi was at work and often he worked his hardest to avoid going anywhere near her. They hadn't spoken a word to each other for some time, and often Ian spent the vast majority of his time avoiding any contact with her, ensuring he didn't incur her wrath and he didn't appear clingy and needy.

Yet still, he found himself lingering near the coffee shop, watching customers flow in and out ceaselessly â€" the rush that Avi had spoken about making complete sense at this point, and still it took most of his will power to stop himself from heading into the shop. He shouldn't be the one begging her to talk to him again, she was the one who flew off the handle over nothing- and yet she didn't seem to care one bit that they hadn't spoken since.

To say he was concerned was an understatement, if the bad blood continued between the two of them it was likely that he would be looking for another housemate, but so far he wasn't prepared to welcome someone else into his house â€" he'd liked Avi almost instantly, and though they barely saw one another now, the house would seem empty without her.

Smoking had been a habit that he had kicked some time ago, but, as he felt now Ian couldn't stop himself from falling back into it. Plucking one from the packet he rolled it between his fingers lazily, almost reluctant to light it, eventually he placed it between his lips, lighting it and taking a deep drag, frowning at the rising smoke â€" shifting his weight as he chanced another glance at the coffee shop, the gears in his mind still whirring clunkily, still trying to understand the reasoning behind Avi's outburst at him.

His thoughts were soon silenced, dark chocolate eyes flickering to another man waving at him â€" he had no idea who the heavier set male was, but out of politeness he raised a hand tentatively. One eyebrow raised in mild confusion, the smoke clogging his ability to scent out the other male on his approach, and though Lucian greeted him with warmth and extended hand, Ian was still uncertain about this chance meeting. He took the offered hand, shaking it firmly despite his uncertainty, at closer quarters the scent of the wolf was much more obvious and his description kickstarted the recognition in the slighter male's head. "Puck" A significantly different voice compared to the rich gravelly one, much smoother and polished, almost lazy and relaxed despite his slightly standoffish approach to meeting new people.

Offering his nickname, rather than his real name, he still wasn't sure what this meeting was about and he'd already learnt that going in too strong and friendly wasn't the best attitude when making new friends in this city, Avi had taught him that much. "Yeah, you could say I'm pretty new." Tapping the ash and finishing the last of his cigarette the butt was crushed underneath the heel of his boot, tattooed fingers disappearing into the depths of his jeans pockets. "You a tour guide or something?" A small quirk of the lip, offering a ghost of a smile â€" meaning well, but still altogether unsure about this random meeting.
