East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

The elder Dark Hunter stared at the young girl nestled against the wall with a quite nearly deadpan look. Her insistence that she was in any state for any kind of fight was quite laughable to the Macedonian man. If there was anything he excelled at, it was the ability to judge the state of his men to continue waging their wars. He knew all too well what it was like to be upfront and personal with an enemy. He still remembered the look in their eyes with but a spear in his hand and a sword hanging from his waist. His eyebrow rose ever so slightly but he hardly pressed the girl on the matter, after all, she was young enough to still believe she was invincible, even in the face of death. His head shook ever so slightly, instead shifting the conversation to one that was vastly more important to the young woman's survival. A small glimpse of disbelief crossed his chiseled features at the female's mention of her maker, the story earning little more then a look of disgust. It angered him, the way that her creator had so abandoned her to a life that she scarcely understood. It was thanks to men like him that young Dark Hunters died. It was thanks to men like him that their reputation of being the monsters that terrified the supernaturals was so tarnished. It was men like him Alexander had once hunted down himself.

"Show me this letter." He stated simply, his hand held out to her in a command that suggested he was far to used to his orders being followed. Despite the centuries that had passed - being King was enough in his genetics that even time couldn't erase it. He could tell she was perhaps as much disgruntled about her scenario as he was and quite frankly Alexander was surprised she had managed to last this long with her complete naivety of the malicious world that surrounded her. Even though he hardly voiced his intent, Alexander had ever notion to see that the girl was fed, clothed, slept and educated before he willingly released her once again to roam his streets. Her sigh at his admittance was certainly noticed and briefly the elder hunter wondered just how many times she'd had to run for her life - or just how many she had met who wanted her death. Still he greeted her with mother more then a raise of his eyebrow at the sardonic tone the laced her feminine voice, one that brought a roll to even Alexander's eyes. His head shook in a disgruntled fashion but he hardly pressed the matter, letting her have her arrogance for the moment.

Never the less, Alexander led her back in to the sanctuary that was his realm, through the kitchen and out into the main cafe. He paused in front of the coffee machine just long enough to make a second cup of the rich, delicious substance before making his way over towards one of the plush arm chairs and placing a pristine white mug in front of the young woman. His own was embraced warmly within his hands, brought to his lips to be sipped on, before placed down beside hers. "Now...that letter." He stated, quite ready to read whatever sage words her maker had to bestow upon her before abandoning to face her inevitable death.
