and the stars in their orbits shone pale through the lightof the brighter, colder moon
Nadya would probably never heard the end of it if she brought Alexis to the warehouse, how she was always "bringing home strays" or being too nice, but that wasn't really what deterred her as much as the thought of Tobias trying to maul this one too. Given it was Nadya bringing her and not Alexis just sneaking up on them, and they were in human form, but still, Tobias' volatile nature lately due to Tetradore's nighttime absences made her tread carefully. She was at least glad to hear that Alexis had somewhere to stay, it made her feel better not taking her back. "Good, the city can be a crazy place if on your own. I've heard there are dark hunters here but I haven't come across any yet." At least not that she knew since keeping a low profile was part of the not getting attention from a deranged hunter with a bone to pick with supernaturals. She slid out from the booth, leaving her empty mug for the busboy to gather and smoothed down her dress absently before walking with Alexis back out of the café to the street.
Nadya's gaze wanders the street a moment, gauging by the stretch of the shadows that it was near time her brother would be showing up back home if not already there. A certain excitement and relief crept into her disposition as she looked back to Alexis. "If you can you should come to the park at sunset tomorrow and we can find something to do." She plucked a wrapped pastry from the bag and handed it to her. Tobias wouldn't know that one was missing anyhow and it wasn't like he needed the sugar. "Take this with you, you seem to enjoy more than I do anyways." There were no words of goodbye, since she was never good at saying them anyways...it just felt too final like you would never see the person again. Nadya smiled at her before turning on her heels and walking away, pausing momentarily to look back and call back to her, "Remember, just go for the ankles." She'd have to work on getting Alexis to have more confidence in order to protect herself if she was going to live in a city like this where a situation like earlier was more prone to happen. It wouldn't do anyone any good if her new found friend ended up as a winter scarf.
