East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

there are as many truths as stars in the sky, and everyone of them different
perhaps that is the only real truth

The day had come. All day she had been charged with energy and it had translated to even greater sales than normal. There is something about a bubbly personality and a grinning face that drew customers in. Honestly, if these fast food chains would hire more happy workers then they would have more positive feedback. While Sorcha wasn't a constant at such establishments she was usually disappointed by the air of the place and the stoic expressions that never once changed, not even when she told them thank you or have a good day. She had gone through half her stock today, eagerly swapping bottles of multi-colored liquids and some thicker rubs for cash. While she was normally very frugal, stuffing away all her money into her bank account once a week and never touching it except for necessities, this time she separates a small chunk for her own personal pile. Wrapping up her day she hurried home, enjoying the stretch of her muscles on her lengthy walk and deposits her bag in her apartment before heading down a block to a local nail and hair salon.

An hour passes and when she emerges she feels renewed, almost giddy. It had been a long time since she had felt such lightness, even despite her almost constantly witty and kind behavior around others. Her nails were polished and tipped white (it was a pleasure she very rarely indulged in) and her hair had been done, the top layer pulled back into a layering ponytail with only a few curled strands left free to hang around her face, the rest of her hair falling back down her shoulders in a glossy sheen. It would be a nice night, she thinks, and she is more excited to see Booker again. Clearly he hadn't been put off by her admission to being a witch - even if he probably didn't think anything of it. She was a bit eccentric, after all.

The time was running late and she had only thirty minutes to prepare until 8 oclock hit so she dressed quick in her red dress, the black patterns of roses standing out. It made her skin seem pale but she didn't mind - she wasn't as in love with being tan as some humans - and besides, the red and black looked amazing against her dress. Over and over she paces, trying to make sure all is perfect. Really, when was the last time she had been on a date? She pauses for a second, pondering that question about herself and remembering a few years prior when she had agreed to go out with some rich boy she had met in the Northern end when she had first began to really try to be an entrepreneur. Their date consisted of getting out on a boat with a bunch of other young people who got incredibly drunk and attempted some quite possibly illegal stunts and she had known right then that it wasn't a scene for her. It had been distasteful, almost, to see their waste and carelessness.

8:10 pm.. he still has not arrived and she slowly sinks down into her couch, crossing one leg over the other in her black heels, frowning at Darwin who is intent on trying to get cuddles (despite trying to not get cat hair all over her). Where was he? She leans down and runs fingers across Darwin's head, feeling joy in that such a simple act makes him so deliriously happy. He was coming, she assured herself. He hadn't forgotten nor had he decided to forget her - but the thought still gnaws at her. Five minutes pass and then two knocks, quick and concise, and she practically leaps to her feet with a grin, striding across the floor with loud sounding steps in her heels and opens the door, grinning at him.

"I was beginning to wonder..." She half teased, stepping out of her apartment with only a small clutch that housed her ID cards and would house her keys as soon as she locked her door. She pauses first, though, so that her eyes can take him in. He is gorgeous in his dark outfit, the jeans giving him just enough of a rumpled edge that she found him incredibly adorable. "You look wonderful," she says in her lyrical voice, winking at him - where is that blush at boy!? - and eyes narrowing on his face. "And healed. All thanks to my expert skills, of course," she jests, immediately jumping in where they had left off, not willing to give him the chance to grow nervous.
