East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

The possibility that his usefulness was presently being weighed and measured had never actually occurred to Alexander. After all, as far as the Macedonian man was concerned, he had more than once proved his capabilities to the world at large - both in life and what he had started to call his 'life after death'. In truth, his accomplishments after the world had considered him dead were far more secretive, any stroke of pride he might have taken by having his name associated with them had been stripped from the council at large. It was a point that was of continual annoyance of the man, especially after their species had stepped from the shadows and into the metaphorical limelight. Still, he hardly sees fit to engage in any sort of argument with the man, even though he knows just as well that his observations were not theory but rather mere fact. His affinity was far too finely tuned by not to simply lead him astray. Little thought was too given to the simplicity at which Alexander regarded his own death, entirely steadfast in the believe that his relationship with the army he had once proudly called his own should remain so intact and untainted. He was oblivious to the fashion in which such a notion seemed so particularly egotistical, having somehow come to the belief that his abilities to lead his men eternally to victory had fostered some sort of loyalty that they too should be recognized for possessing.

His sea tinged gaze shifted towards the man at his utterance of those two simple syllables, the male's tone of voice quite clearly had indicated some measure of dubiety and for a brief moment Alexander had considered questioning exactly why such incredulous existed, especially when he himself held his own army in high regard, even if centuries had passed since the death of them and their immediate lines. Fortunately though, such line of inquiry never left his lips, his interest instead caught on the familiar sight of an arena resting within the darkness. For a moment, Alexander was given to pause, his eyebrow raising as his gaze flickered towards Frost. He was inquisitive perhaps as to why the man had brought him here. Especially considering the steed had seem entirely against the concept of being ridden within the first place. It was wholly possible that his intentions were little more than to taunt the Dark Hunter what the animal refused to give him, or perhaps even more with the intent to knock him from his spin in the same fashion that his reputation said he had done with all previous hunters. Frankly, Alexander would hardly put it past the male to attempt such if only for his own pride. Unfortunately for him, Alexander had a certain sort of persistence that he was particularly well known to remain steadfast within.

Nevertheless, Alexander hardly questioned the man's request to find the lights, instead dutifully heading towards the tack shed that he had previously been indicated towards. It took a moment for his eyes to adjust to the darkness within the enclosed space and a moment longer to find the light switches upon the wall but soon the arena was thoroughly bathed with a bright, warm, luminescence. Alexander stepped back outside into the crisp evening air, entirely unsurprised to find that magnificent ivory steed waiting for him within the fenced in area. For a moment, Alexander was content to simply observe the male, noting the fashion at which his ivory locks slapped against his haunches in impatience just as he too noted the taunt muscles and the marr upon his leg. He noted the difference in size from his usual stud, at least when he had previously actively ridden but the creature was hardly as daunting as he should be. Quite on the contrary, it was perhaps with horses that Alexander was most confident and comfortable with, even if he constantly had to remind himself that the majestic ivory steed was no usual horse. In a way, the presence of a man within the beast was rather disappointing, somehow changing the dynamics between rider and horse that he so came to love.

Still, despite his momentary lapse, Alexander did eventually step into the ring, approaching the stallion with simple unwavering poise. Rather than immediately attempting to mount the horse, Alexander simply reached out to the creature, allowing the weight of his hand to rest upon the horse's' neck as if in an attempt to calm that restlessness that waged within. Even though he knew all too well it was the inner man within the equine, some habits were too ingrained for Alexander to ignore - the first of which was to ensure the steed's placidity before attempting to craft any sort of relationship within him. His hands moved with careful dexterity, his touch was soft yet firm as he attempted to find all the spots that the equine's beastial side enjoyed being touched.
