The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

It's easy to think that Alexander could never know what others see when they look at him. He always seems so lost in thought even while looking at someone with such a fierce focus that it takes your breath away. He has that way of making you feel like the most important person in the world but when you see him by himself, just moving around as nature intends, it makes you feel like the smallest fly on a piece of grass, watching the real prize and feeling honored just to be in its presence.
I hadn't of course plannd on our fingers brushing as he hands me the finished product and finding that suddenly I'm not so alone in my own head. All at once I feel transported into another world, still in my head and yet not the only audience to it anymore. I feel violated and yet it feels too surreal to really be insulted by the entry into something so private. Instead I only feel mystified and more paniked than anything that something I thought was precious and protected is suddenly not so safe anymore. I feel confused, not knowing what just happened or why. Who's to say someone outside the cafe wasn't looking in us, seeing everything for themselves and manipulating it as such? The idea is horrifying.
And so I do the only thing I know how to do. Escape. I jump to my feet, the mug shattering at my feet and even in this myriad of confusion, I glance down long enough to think about the fact I may need to pay for or replace that mug later and I feel horrible for ruining his stuff. His hand slowly falls and I feel a strange sense of relief where usually I would feel disappointment. I don't know for sure if his touching me had anything to do with it, only that I automatically associate the two at this moment since it only makes sense. His eyes boring into my own only escalate those nerves as my feet freeze if only for a second or two. He looks down at my lips and for a brief moment, I wonder if he'll kiss me. But as suddenly as the thought is there, it's gone and my feet start to move, only to have my wrist grabbed.
I hear his words and I snap my head back to him in puzzled curiosity even as I feel my thoughts invaded once again. This time there's a flash of him kissing me, really pulling me in and melding his lips to my own like they do in the romance movies I used to watch on Raven's couch. Then there's the plan I had in mind, me racing through the door and changing into my were form, retreating with the embarrassed tears running down my face. I feel mortified and yet more confused than anything. This time he's quicker to pull his fingers away and I look up at his face as if I'll find an answer there. His apology only confuses me more at first. "Sorry? For what?" I answer automatically.
