The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Burgundy streaks licked the inside of his nearly empty wine glass, the residue of his last bit of wine staining the glass as it dried and caked. Dareios watched the liquid as it moved to trace the gentle swoop of the cup when he tilted it this way and that, following it with his eyes as he weighed Frost's proposal. Life had felt stagnant lately. He had mastered his job. He was too good at predicting potential risks, and steering his operations away from them. His cautionary behavior and calculated moves had made him a lot of money. But the vampire was bored. He had tried, and failed in many ways, to find purpose and pleasure in more human-like scenarios. Cooking. Wine tasting. Art. Collecting expensive things. Travel, upon occasion. He gave to charity. He started charities. He found people, and sometimes those of other supernatural ranks, and helped them, when he knew they weren't a lost cause. It was the latter that was probably the only thing that roused him from this static state. His mind drifted briefly to Sorcha, the peculiar witch he'd met on her way to the fighting rings on the West side of town a few weeks back. More recently, they had come to agreement to work together. She was kind and intelligent. Dareios had high hopes for their arrangement. But Frost? There were too many risks. Dareios knew better. This was a loss leader for him, no doubt. He should walk away now and let the shifter badger someone else with his absurd, and probably dangerous, request. But Dareios has no real intention of getting to know the shifter better at this point. He saw no need. Against his better judgement, the vampire made the brash decision to take on his request. "Pay me for two days work. Once your payment arrives and is verified, I'll begin making the necessary arrangements." Dareios said curtly, signaling to the bartender with the lazy quip of his hand that he was ready to cash out. The vampire briefly looked to Frost again, as he shifted on his seat bones to collect his wallet. He noticed the crumpled drawing still sitting on the bar, and collected it, taking one last glance at the amulet before folding the paper and tucking it gently into his wallet. "I trust you know by now how and where to deliver your payment?" Frost clearly knew where he lived, and where most of his business arrangements were made. Luckily for Dareios, his brownstone in Anacosta Heights was obviously not where he stored most of his product. Just how much Frost knew about what Dareios did in Sacrosanct was unclear of course, but Dareios wasn't about to give away all his secrets at first glance. "I'll be in touch." The vampire says with a short and strict nod. Then he slides easily from his chair, taking the time to straighten the edges and button his blazer, before striding toward the exit, his tall and lean frame disappearing into the hazy darkness of the club.
