East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Sad eyes, mouth full of white lies

While Blake debated the best way to craft a witty - or at least kind - way to abandon this whole ridiculous date notion, or at least change the venue, his attention was pulled from the little electronic device in his hand when he heard an unfamiliar voice chirp his name. His eyes scanned the passerbys quickly before falling on a tiny person. His eyes took a moment longer to focus, brain working to catch up since it had been fumbling over his thoughts, before that blank expression became animated. Suddenly this blind date didn't seem a total disaster because, hey, she was attractive. That's always the biggest fear on these things, right? That your date is going to be one right turn short of a Freddy.

"Hey!" He enthusiastically returned her greeting, his hand almost moving forward as though to shake hers. However, before he actually did, his brain began screaming that was too formal. However, a kiss on the cheek seemed too... intimate? He would give her a hug but that seemed a bit too friendly. Yet the high five was definitely way too childish. So, finding himself overanalyzing the correct way to properly introduce himself to his new date, Blake settled with the most Blake-thing to do: he put his phone away in his pocket and stood awkwardly with his hands to himself.

"It's not a problem, really. I was actually early so I should probably apologize for that. I feel like it sets an unfair expectation that I'm always on time." He jested lightly, eyes darting over her as he took the second to actually see her at more than a quick glance. "It's, uh, Chi...zue?" Did he just say Schizu? Like the dog? That couldn't be right at all. God, hopefully she wouldn't be too upset at this stupid boy. He was trying, though hearing himself speak, she was getting a nickname. He wasn't 100% what it would be yet but it was happening. Otherwise she may stab him with a spoon for asking her to repeat the pronunciation over and over.

"Oh, right. I should get us a table. I bet you're hungry. I'm hungry but I'm always hungry. This place is all right with you, right? I guess I should have checked before now but I just assumed everyone like Italian. I guess you wouldn't like it if you didn't like pasta." My, Blake was certainly off to a rambling start. At least she wouldn't have to worry about needing to speak if she didn't want to. She could just sit there in silence, letting him talk himself into an early grave as he fumbled for words. Apparently he wasn't too good on this first date thing, not that was news to him. "I mean, really, if you don't like this place we can do somewhere else. I know a great ice cream place. Seriously, you could kill a dude for the ice cream there. Though likely the dude is going to be me because I'll eat all of the store. It's awful but amazing. Hey- maybe if you can tolerate me through dinner, we can go there afterward. You'll probably have to roll me to the car but it could be fun!"

Blake.

Blake, stop talking. Let the girl have a chance to process something.
