East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

WHAT A GORGEOUS DISGRACE

It seemed that the stranger was more comfortable when I was drawing and not looking directly at her. So not trying to make her any more uncomfortable I tried to keep as much of my attention on my drawing as I could. Not that I ignored her, I didn't, but maybe she just needed less attention sometimes. It didn't take me long to get completely lost again, and I was almost done with the detail in the face when a question was directed at me.

I looked up from my work, my brow arched in curiosity at her question. My grey gaze slid to what I was wearing as my fingers toyed with my blonde waves that fell about my shoulders. I didn't even get all dolled up today; I went very minimal and basic. I was wearing a simple black long sleeve shirt with a V-neck, skinny jeans, riding boots, and simple eyeliner and minimal face make-up. I shrugged and bit down on my lower lip, deciding to take her question as a compliment which it did seem to be as well.

"I like to think I do, even if it's right when I wake up."

A quiet laugh passed my lips as my shoulder shifted again and I leaned back into the booth, my eyes once again focusing only on Wasp. I tilted my head and studied her briefly before finishing off my coffee. I glanced around the familiar coffee shop and another smile appeared on my lips. Did I have any place to be today? Not really, it was my day off and I had no shoots, so the day was mine to do what I wanted. Why I came to my place of work even on my day off, I wasn't sure, but I was just craving a familiar area.

"Not really, I have an actual day off today, so I'm just going where I feel a pull. I know that sounds weird, but I don't get full days off often, so when I do, I enjoy them in any way I can."

Her answer to my question about what her story was got a small chuckle before I shook my head. I reached over and grabbed my drawing pencil and turned it over in my fingers for a few seconds before putting it back down. She definitely had some sass, and that was something I appreciated in someone. I hated boring people, and this woman was far from boring. Once again I got the feeling that she wasn't all that she appeared to be, that she was something else other than just a woman. It wasn't a bad thing, I didn't feel bad energy from her, but I did feel something.

"She taught you not to talk to strangers, but not to avoid sitting with them? Interesting. What was her opinion on taking candy from strangers?"

I ask in a flirty tone, my eyes sparking mischievously. My gaze was then pulled to one of my friends and fellow co-workers who put another coffee down in front of me. I smiled my thanks and as she walked away she motioned to Wasp and fanned herself to say that she was attractive. I shook my head and waved her away before my attention was back on the dark-haired beauty.

"Ignore her."
