East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

It hadn't occurred to the Macedonian man that the female at his side might mind the truth of his identity. After all, so very few really did once they got over the awe, shock, and general disbelief at the discovery that the thousand year old man was still very much alive and well. After all, they had already conquered and overcome the separation of their species. Every other unspoken truth seemed to quite pale in comparison to such an obstacle as the simplicity of what they were. And yet, there was something about the steadfastness of her indignant words that caused the smallest of simpers to appear across Alexander's features. He reached out, gingerly pulling the girl closed to him as he begun to lead her through the crowd of the party. Although the man heard the grumbled complaint upon her lips, he hardly acquiesced to her unspoken desire. "I know." Alexander apologized, "But it's for the best tonight." There was a nearly somber hint to his tone, his blue-green gaze momentarily drifting ahead toward the ivory haired man. The truth of it was that he hardly trusted his already difficult relationship with Frost to loose the full capacity of his mental thoughts - and Alexis had a way of distracting him so.

His gaze shifted back toward the young woman at her inquiry, the look on her features quite clearly displayed that such aspects as the one she seemed to be suggesting hardly belonged with whatever characteristics she attributed to him. Oh how little the poor girl knew. "Well....there was that one time I woke up with nothing but a Poncho behind a bakery in Mexico." Alexander responded with a nearly nonchalant shrug upon his shoulders. Still, he couldn't hide the amused simper upon his features, his gaze steady upon her if only because he was inquisitive of her reaction to such newfound knowledge. After all, Frost knew well who he was and thus, he was certain, knew equally as well of how gracious history had been to his once army's partying. It was no secret that the alcohol flowed freely then and even now, it wasn't as if things had changed. The alcohol had only gotten better over the years.

Still, the man made every effort to return his facial features to a certain measure of seriousness at the mention of Frost bleaching his skin, his gaze turned towards the man as if to further impress the gravity of her inquiry, knowing well the answer at which Frost intended to provide him with. The man's mock horror was met with little more than a soft snort, though he hardly protested Frost's explanation of how he'd managed to achieve such dark color for his role. Instead, the Dark Hunter occupied himself with unlocking the door to the cafe, flicking on the dull yellow light overhead. He watched as Frost collapsed in a nearby chair, ensuring that Alexis too entered behind them before locking the door again once all three were inside - after all, he hardly wanted to bother with customers on a night like this. His eyebrow raised ever so slightly at Frost's comment on how he preferred his coffee, his blue-green gaze following that small crystalline bowl of sugar cubes as it wa pulled across the table.

Alexander hardly responded to Frost's mental deal, instead crossing the cafe to reach out for the glass container and pluck it from Frost's reach. "Or, you can stop eating my sugar cubes regardless and say 'please'." Alexander responded curtly, still perhaps refusing to simply give into such a blatant command. After all, the war of wills had hardly been truly won and the conqueror couldn't help himself to give even a smidgen of footing to the equine-man. He did, however, decide that it was perhaps within their collective best interest to provide Alexis with a glass of water, taking the sugar cubes with him behind the counter to fish not only the aforementioned glass but also a pastry for her consumption, hopefully it would help with the girl's alcohol intake.
