East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

and the stars in their orbits shone pale through the lightof the brighter, colder moon

A wholly vegetarian diet was always lost on Nadya. It wasn't that she didn't like vegetables; it was simply that without meat she didn't see what there was left to fill your plate and your stomach. She didn't comment on it however, only smiled softly with a shrug and continued to nurse her coffee while she mulled over the information he was providing. It may appear most times that Nadya was airy and only interested in fashion and having fun but she was a thinker and observer as well. People not thinking much of her could actually play to her benefit seeing as they would never see it coming when she flattened them. Her own mixed feelings over her situation with Frost was perhaps not helping with all the information being brought to light, and her resolution of not being a "harem" girl causing a noticeable shift in Frost's demeanor.

This shift in Frost, the undercurrent in his tone that acted as a warning, caused Nadya to purse her lips and narrow her gaze. She hadn't seen that warning part before. It didn't frighten her but did ruffle her sassy-side feathers. It was the same way her brother would speak to her, warning her away from Frost himself or when she treaded too closely to Risque in the club all those months ago. But it was a wave that seemed to ebb back into the ocean just as easily as it had come in and again Frost was back to his cool and relaxed self. He certainly had a good amount of control and perhaps that was one reason why Nadya prodded at him so incessantly, ever trying to find the threshold of this mysterious man before her.

Instead of pursue and prod the delicate matter in public, their attention returned to the twins and cleaning up the chaos they had created. Of course it was easier for Nadya, Micah was much calmer than his sister and she had a year of experience now cleaning them up. Nadya couldn't help glancing over with a giggle at Frost with his gentle touch and valiant attempt at cleaning up the rather excited and wiggly Izzy. Izzy was like Nadya, she would test the boundaries for what she could get away with with every new person. "You're too slow...and too gentle. They're sturdier than you think." Nadya finished cleaning up Micah and quickly wiped away the remnants on Izzy before settling them into the stroller. The momentary pause before she grabbed the horse was her moment to prepare herself, attempting to steel herself away for pushing Frost away one final time.

The flinch from Frost wasn't lost on Nadya, though she figured it was simply from being caught a little off guard from her forcefulness and the news about accepting her brother's offer. Her mind was momentarily distracted with him being so close, pressing the toy back into her hands. "The children are going to live with my adoptive pack for a while." She finally admitted, blinking to press back the stinging of her eyes that threatened to turn to tears. It was a hard decision for any mother to make to be separated from her children for any length of time.

It was in that moment of fighting back her emotions, avoiding looking up at Frost, that she noted his stance, the way he favored his side ever so slightly since the flinch of the toy against him. It was the same way she had hunched over when the elk had gouged her side. To her knowledge though Frost hadn't been harmed and the only side wound she knew of...had been Micah's. Realization began to creep onto Nadya's features, glancing over to Micah in the stroller then up to Frost with a narrowed gaze. "What did..." Her form standing in front of Frost was blocking the view from most of the café but being in public didn't matter to Nadya all of a sudden. Her fingers reached forward without any preamble to ask Frost if she could before she was gripping his shirt and yanking the fabric up to bare the smooth skin of his side beneath, marred now from the wound he had taken on from Micah. It was a bit more healed now being on an adult Were but it was still angry looking.

Nadya looked away from the wound back up to meet Frost's violet gaze. It was a war in her eyes, a hard stubbornness fighting with regret and hope. Frost could have let Micah heal on his own. Nadya could have healed Micah. She had had no idea that his power was unlike hers and he took on the actual injury himself. She hadn't meant for that to happen. It should have made her feel justified, seeing that wound on him instead...but it didn't. There was a moment of stillness as all that fought across her features before Nadya closed the already small space between them and pressed her lips to his. Her own healing abilities unleashed, coursing through to Frost, seeking out the injury and beginning to mend it.

She really didn't need to kiss him on the lips for her ability to work, it could have been the hand or even the cheek. There she was though, up on her toes slightly with her body arching into his kissing him...a kiss that was rather indecent for public. Nadya's fingers had released his shirt and snaked up to behind his neck to thread through his platinum blonde locks. The last time they had kissed it had been in the hot tub and she had taken off soon after and the memory of his lips on hers and the heat from his skin had stuck with her. This time though Nadya lingered, slowly pulling away from Frost long after his wound was healed already with a faint quickness to her breath. "You need to stay away from me. Don't come to the Ark, it's not safe for you." She whispered huskily as she stepped away from Frost, regathering her things and her thoughts, ignoring the stares that they had drawn from such a steamy scene.
