The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

She was running late, of that the woman was well aware even without the near persistent tapping of Frost's foot against the floor of the landing. But, in her defense, she was finding it rather hard to focus with Kato's form lounging across the bed watching her every move. He'd been persistent in trying to get her to stay home with him instead of going to the Gala with Frost. He'd tried using his hands on her hips, his mouth on her skin, those big eyes of his that she was so fond of. Nothing was working, so he'd felt content to just sulk on the mattress and try to be adorable and distracting. "You know," Edie commented into the mirror as she worked the diamond earrings into her earlobes. "You're the one who said you didn't want to go. You could have gone with me and been a good and proper boyfriend." The word was new, the woman trying it on for size as she worked. It was what they were, was it not? A couple? He spent more afternoons and evenings in her bed than not, and it wasn't as though Edie had gone out with anyone else since him.
Still, the boy didn't do anything to counter her offer, both of them turning towards the door as Frost spoke just outside of it. "Are there even invitations?" Edie called out, a chuckle on her lips at the notion that someone dare not like Frost. After all, she supposed that that wouldn't be painfully hard to do. There was likely a list out there of his enemies - an actual, typed list, she was sure. "And I swear Frost, if you made me get all dressed up and we won't even get past the doorman, I'm going to kick your ass." She cast a glance over at Kato on her bed. "Or rather, I'm going to have Kato kick your ass." She listened again for the rhythmic tapping of his foot before she once again groaned. "I'm almost done."

The woman wasted no time in walking over to the man that was lounging half naked on her bed. She grinned, sitting down on the edge of the bed carefully to avoid wrinkling her dress too much. "Please be here when I get back," She asked of him, gently stroking the skin on his chest. A small smile appeared once more on her face. "After all, I want you to be the one to pull me out of this dress." It was all she offered him, wordlessly leaning down to press her lips against his before she stood, smoothing out her dress with her hands once again. "Coming," She called to Frost before she crossed the room, stepping effortlessly into the hallway. "Your patience is?" She asked of her Alpha, tilting her head to the side in an expectant gesture. The nickname he gave her - one she'd recently actually looked up to see what it meant - caused her to chuckle. "Do you think Kato would enjoy it if he knew you call me baby?" She asked playfully. She slipped her phone into the black clutch she held, tossing her hair over her shoulder. "How do I look?"
The woman was well aware of the simper that graced her Alpha's features. Edie refused to let her gaze drift away from him simply because he was eying her figure. She knew she looked great in her dress - Kato's reaction alone enough to keep her confidence high. The black fabric clung to her figure, the silver accents a pleasant enough feature on the dress, though what had drawn Edie to it was the slit in the front that went up her long leg. That Kato had actually groaned at the sight of her in the dress was enough to please Edie, and now Frost's reaction made her even happier that she had chosen this one. She chuckled, motioning behind her towards her bedroom door. "Are you done gawking at me, or shall you go join Kato to discuss my appearance?" She teased as she joined him at his side, looping her arm through his as they began the walk towards Red On The Water. Frost seemed to waste no time in assuring her of the real intention for the evening. Edie had not been naive enough to think that the entirety of the evening was for dancing or playing with politicians. It was Frost, after all, and Frost always had another agenda up his sleeve.
"One day," Edie commented as she pressed her body into his side as they walked. "You'll actually use me for something more than a pretty face and a distraction, you know. But I'm content to be the pretty face of this pack. Lord knows you can't be." The tease was still on her lips as they went into the building, her eyes scanning the well done up building with ease. "Nice turn out." She commented. The smile that had appeared on her features faded instantly at her dismissal. "You're getting rid of me," She commented, though she knew even now that arguing with Frost, her Alpha, was useless. She wasted no time in heading off to the bar.
She'd just got the two of them a drink when she turned towards the room again, eyes scanning for the white haired man. Once again, her smile faded at the sight of him with the brunette woman that she'd last seen in the Ark. Nadya. Of course she was here. Of course that was the reason they'd came. Ah, the girl should have stayed home with her boyfriend for the evening instead of being the cover up for Frost's flirtations with Nadya. The woman's mild rage for Frost's real reason for having her here made her move forward, moving to stand beside her Alpha.
"There you are," She said pleasantly, pressing the drink into Frost's hand in the attempt to distract him from Nadya. Her fingertips brushed against Frost's arm as she stepped in closer to him. "They didn't have Brevinnin, unfortunately, but I figured some straight vodka would still do the trick for us." She grinned to him before her eyes slid to Nadya. "Ah, hello." She said coolly, acting as though it was the first she'd noticed of the woman. "Glad to see you haven't blown up the place, Nadya. Would make for a dull party."
