"In this case.." That iconic smirk brushed across his lips right before it almost got swiped savagely right off his face with a clawed hand. "..it is.." He called out to her. This thing had to die. It had to die right now. He did like the challenge, and if it weren't for the woman he probably would have been drawn out longer. It was one thing to risk himself with his foolish endeavours; it was a whole other ball game if he was including an innocent. He had a lot of pent up anger raging inside of him, so even as dangerous as a massive demonic creature on a murder rampage would seem like a bad thing to most, it felt good to him. It was a language he felt the most comfortable with, especially when killing these beasts to survive in that hell dimension was one of his only outlets.
Brennan was hardly concerned with his wounds, knowing if he cleaned them well enough they would heal rather quickly. If he wasn't such a shitty warlock he could probably even accelerate it sooner. Yet it was hard to be certain considering the putrid condition of the claws of that beast held all kinds of bacterial and slow healing agents, so he wouldn't take any chances of not disinfecting them at the nearest chance. It stung like a bitch, pulsing like it had a pulse of its own, which probably meant it was deeper than he had anticipated. There wasn't time to fret about that now.
Regardless a few cuts, the plan had really gone off without a hitch.
They took off running, covering ground so they could be at a distance away from the mighty blast that was sure to come. The girl was fast, moving in a predatory sort of way, her footing sure as though she could be running along a tightrope with equal speed. They slowed by a tree, hearing the heavy, but sluggish footfalls of the wounded beast in tow. He clawed frantically at that incision at his belly as if he knew something wasn't quite right. That was when Brennan was met with a questioning look, all while that knowing smirk crossed upon his features, his calculating eyes nothing short of roguish, the simple action made me feel the wound on his cheek all over again.
"There are plenty of beasts to slay." The warlock's smooth irish tone, amused how eager she was for a brawl. Most woman turned away from a fight, he wondered if that was simply her or maybe a attribute of her kind. Regardless, she seemed almost disappointed that it was over. Really? He thought for damn certain she would be relieved. Any person in their right mind would not want to live a single slice of that hell he had dwelled in. Did she have a death wish?
The explosion was louder than he anticipated, it shook the ground and would probably bring about way too many prying eyes for his liking. The duo looked all too suspicious, standing there with the beast's thick black blood and his own splattered across him. He couldn't go to the pub looking like this. A piece of beast flesh suddenly hit him square in the jaw, it made a disgusting wet sound that would make someone with a weak stomach spill their guts out. 'Lovely' that sarcastic growl escaped him, entirely displeased as he moved his head to wipe it away. Even in death, the beast still managed to get the last laugh, at least until the brown haired girl suddenly laughed unbidden. The sound, caused him to look at her. He supposed it was funny, even at his own expense, a chuckle escaping his parted maw. She wanted that to happen again? This girl was too much. "Oh I think that can be arranged.." His voice remaining perfectly cryptic as he grabbed a piece that stuck to his jacket while she was so entirely consumed by laughter. This was going to be a bitch to get out.
He made a comment about the messy state of the park, faux pitying the poor soul who had to clean it up to make it safe for the children to play on it once more. The whole thing needed to be sanitized, but Brennan wasn't actually concerned with the state of the park and who had to clean it up. He had a more entertaining notion enter his mind.
While she turned her gaze to look at the mess they had created of the park, his focus was on tossing that slimy morsel right the side of her head, hoping to make purchase upon the girl. "Sorry, I thought you could use a little more." The amused sarcasm escaped the irish warlock. Hey she wanted a repeat, she just didn't refer to who got the slime ball aimed at them. His laughing, mocking grey blue eyes assess his handy work.
Buzzards? He highly doubted they would be able to clean up the place sufficient for those prissy folk. "You do realise what kind of neighbourhood we are in right?" Parents would complain and have a field day. They would simply not stand to let their kids play upon something so dirty. There would indeed be someone or multiple someones who had to pay for this. Which is why he would be far and clear from it. "They really should be thanking us though, that beast would do far more damage than a little bit of blood and guts sprayed all over the place." He shrugged his broad shoulders. He knew it wouldn't be long before the cops were called if they weren't called already.
She looked like she was about to reach out and poke or touch his arm that was stained with the silvery liquid. " Thanks for the concern. But, I've had worse." He shrugged, stretching out his aching muscles. She then questioned about that silvery liquid that leaked from his cuts. "I'll be fine. Oh, that stuff is my blood.. Warlock's and Witches have silver blood. I know it's a bit girly but I don't make the rules." His words laced with sardonic humour.
"I know your fully capable of taking care of yourself but are you in one piece?" He would be a complete asshole if he didn't at least ask. She did get jostled around quite a bit like she rode a rodeo bronc, there were all kinds of sharp scales and sharp bits protruding from the monster. She explained that she was a were coyote. "Ah, Not half bad for a coyote." He admitted, rather impressed that little coyote was able to hold her own to take down a creature over 30 times her size. Of course, he wasn't lost upon him at the state he had found her in, that deep in thought look on her face when she sat about on that swing set before shit went down. Oh he knew that look all too well.
