She was more than content to let them gawk like fools as they drank in her womanly frame. There was no shame as she would flash a smile at one while tossing a wink at another entirely, hardly tiring of how she could bring the more masculine sex that prided themselves in how many women they've slept, how many pounds of steel they could bench-press, or how blessed with their own handsome features thinking themselves only the best of the best, the pick of the litter, the cream of the croup. She would take great amusement in watching as they would argue quietly amongst themselves on who might get the opportunity to ask for her name and number, if maybe she might want to come home with them for the night. They may be the wolves in this den, but she was more than just a piece of meat driving that hunger in each and every one of them to even greater depths. Heavens no, she was something else entirely. She was a mountain cat, her grace captivating as she allowed the city to see her only when she wanted it to and not a moment sooner, capable of disappearing as quickly as she came if she so desired to, like she had been nothing but a ghost through the trees. That was why they were called ghost cats after all, was it not? They were known for their stealth, their grace... and their lethal potential if the moment called for such things. Yet, that was hardly what the fae woman was after tonight. No, tonight she was hunting as she walked with nothing but pure confidence across that hardwood floor only to settle in that leather booth in the deepest part of the extravagant bar, one slender leg crossing over the other with all the poise of that very wildcat that hid beneath those pretty pale green eyes and sugar-sweet smile. Vitani was hardly left to her own devices for long when the waiter made his way over to her, and she could practically smell the nervousness that wafted from him. How she enjoyed taking those men usually so full of self-confidence and making them doubt themselves. It wasn't unheard of back in those many cities she'd occupied in the past for her to walk by a man to place a soft hand on his chest as though she might just decide he was worth her while, only for the poor thing to nearly shake in the knees at her touch, grow weak with an aching want for her. Some might even venture as far to say that the woman with those long and flowing near-white locks might have some sort of magic that could make the strongest of men go to outrageous lengths just to earn themselves a single kiss from her, and if they were truly lucky, something that would easily make them do so much more for her ever so fickle favor. Looking at her now, it was impossible to see the perfect storm that was Vitani to the very core. In those long years that she'd lived, she'd had more than adequate time to perfect the many masks that she could wear so flawlessly, she could make just about anyone believe the part that she played was the genuine article. And, perhaps the absolute best thing about her ability to wear whichever mask she so desired for whatever occasion she might indulge herself in â€" the icing on the cake if you will â€" was that her mind was hers wholly and entirely. Even those supernatural creatures with those talents of penetrating and manipulating the thoughts and minds of their chosen targets would only come up blank, empty, utterly useless when that invisible force dared to try and break through that impenetrable immunity that she would happily title as the ace up her sleeve. If she didn't want someone to see something, to know something, then there would be no prying it unless it was of her own free will. And for the femme fatale, there was no such thing as "free". What the fae woman doesn't entirely expect was for the man who had opened the door to The Voodoo Room for her to be the first one to step up to the figurative plate. Already, she found herself intrigued by this man and his own brand of confidence that he carried on those broad and undeniably strong-looking shoulders. Those ever keen senses knew exactly what it was that approached her now, but there was not even the faintest prick of worry or fear as the dark hunter came to stand over the booth with that glass of whiskey held in one strong hand. She simply offers him that warm simper as she gestures for him to sit across from her. Surprise ignites his features as he settles into that chair, his accented words encouraging a melodic chuckle from the fae woman. When he inquires as to where it was she was from, those dark lashes flutter softly over pretty pale green eyes as they watch the man in turn."I am from many places, though if you are asking where I was born, the answer is London. Kew, more specifically. And what about you, hmm? Syracuse? Venice? Milan?", she answers honestly before returning his query. There was no reason for her to hide where it was that she was from, feeling perhaps a little generous that she did not have the intentions of letting him wonder â€" even if that was half the fun in this little game she was playing with him. He goes on to say how he had more or less picked his liquor simply by the bottle, those painting those pink lips with a coy smile."So you like taking chances then? I can appreciate that in a man", she purrs smoothly to him as she gives him an impish wink. A man of chance was almost the perfect man for the fae woman. Almost. In truth, there was hardly a man in existence that could ever capture the woman. He reaches out to shake her hand as he offers his name in reply, pale green eyes glittering as that sharp mind of hers absorbed it for the rest of her likely long eternity, content to dismiss his accented apology for lack of relevance to her."Ludovino. That's quite a strong name", she comments casually in reply, those eyes never straying as they travel over the man to take him in once more. He wasn't dressed too terribly, nor was he wearing those expense fabrics she would have easily noticed, but that was simply an observation that she stored away for whatever advantage it might offer her in the near or far future. She hardly misses the way he takes her in as well, almost surprised that he does not let his gaze linger for too long in certain places that show her womanly attributes. Yes, he was already proving to be what she'd come looking for. Sensitive ears are focused on those rich baritones that reply in a teasing note as he mentions the way that the other man had glanced at her, most all of them likely seething with envy at how he seemed to have her interest. He pauses only briefly then before continuing to offer her a compliment as well and she props her elbow on the table now, trailing those slender fingers along the delicate silver chain she wore around her neck a few times, smiling sweetly to him."You're quite the charming gentleman, Ludovino. It is a... delightful change of company for me", she says with warmth trickling over every syllable as they continue to look into the eyes of the other, Vitani hardly blinking as she lifts her glass to those plush lips to take another sip of her nearly finished martini. His question is typical and hardly surprising and she sets her glass back onto that polished surface."I'm just a lonely woman enjoying the flavors of the city, curious of the people what with being so new to this city", she answers nonchalantly as she rests that elbow on the table and settles the back of her hand under her chin as she continues to watch him, drink him in. At last their gazes fall away from the other as the Italian man looks to their glasses before glancing back up to her, asking if he could get her another drink. That coy smile dances across her lips now as she is silent for moment in contemplation, fingers from that other hand trailing idly only the rim of that glass."Actually, that would be quite nice, Ludovino. Thank you", she answers in a voice like milk and honey, allowing for him to reach for her glass. Peridot eyes trail after him as he makes his way towards the bar, thoroughly pleased with the man she had managed to cross paths with tonight. His attention is directed to something in his pocket when he reaches the bar, shoving a hand into his pocket and removing a phone then, only to return it after a few moments. Too short for a phone call, and he certainly didn't take the time to reply to a text as he gestures to the bartender, so she discards this keen observation for now, questioning its importance. He skillfully holds the two drinks in one hand and a charcuterie in the other as he now makes his way back to the booth, placing the delectable array of treats between them, a smirk upon those rugged features as he apologies for his hunger â€" something she hadn't felt in her life and hardly bothered to ponder on it â€" before he settled back into his seat. He then gestures to the board, inviting her to help herself and that simper finds her lips again as she plucks a red grape as he goes on to say how it reminded him of home. She delicately places the grape between her lips, those pale green eyes hardly faltering from Ludovino as she watches him clearly savoring the tastes. How curious."Like a true Italian man", she purrs at him then as she retrieves one more grape before moving her attentions back to the martini. His question falls easily from his lips when he's finished a mouthful of food and she blinks those dark lashes over peridot eyes."A change of scenery mostly. I tired of my estate on the beaches of Bora Bora, and as much as I enjoy Verona, I wanted to settle somewhere... different", she answers easily before her gaze takes on a more sultry look, those lips dancing with a coy smile."And so far, I've only been impressed with what I've found", she says impishly, certain that he would catch on to what she meant. Indeed, she found herself playing a more truthful part than she had anticipated, but so far it was proving to get her just a little closer towards what she was looking for in him."What about you, handsome? Why did you leave your Italian paradise? Perhaps for love, business maybe?", she asks him in those silken words, leaning towards him over the table with her hand still propped beneath her chin while she resumed trailing her fingers along the delicate sterling silver chain that hunt around her neck, as if to seem like she were so very interested in understanding how he had ended up here. And to an extent, she was, but for reasons that naturally might prove to only give her more information about the dark hunter before her. |
