Her savory blush disappears after a few moments and I will admit to some disappointment in this but I keep my face as unreadable as always. When the bartender comes over to offer more to drink, she waves him off and I raise a brow in curiosity. Is someone feeling their liquor? Her eyes do look a little more glistened. She turns back to me afterwards, giving me a dazzling smile as she agrees with my statement about the beauty of vintage. If only she knew. I can tell by the whimsical mask on her face that she probably has an art bone somewhere in her body. I study her for a moment while she day dreams. Painter or photographer? Or does she just like to look at it? Everyone is different and I've met all kinds. When I tell her that I'm tracking down an old friend, she takes to it with no argument, seemingly intrigued with the idea of me having someone to track down. At her comment, I raise my glass in unison with her, smiling as she tips it back and drinks the rest. "One can only hope." I murmur before tipping my own glass back to gulp it down. At her question, I shrug lightly before looking toward the painting on the other side of the bar. A noble gentleman on a horse. The face almost looks familiar. I wonder if I've met him before, or seen him at a party or something way back when. Oh well. Turning my attention back to her, I nod. "You could say that." I wish I could expand on it more but there's nothing I could say that wouldn't sound gory or twisted when it comes to the things I want to do to him when I find him. Instead I focus on her pretty southern accent. I wonder where she's from, but I guess that would come off as nosy and borderline shady. I can see the way she's looking at me, that she wants to find more to say but her words are drawing short thanks to the alcohol in her system. She's more adorable when she's tipsy anyway. At her apology, I smirk and wave it off. "I see no fool before me, only a beautiful woman who doesn't indulge herself as often as she might like." I give her a sly wink, hoping she doesn't think me a vagabond for my slightly more bold comment this time. She brings her hand to her mouth and giggles and I draw back, eyes burning with amusement as I tilt my head. I flash my pearly whites. "Either way, I would look forward to the meeting. In fact, I'm quite loathe for this one to end." I can see she's already resigned herself to defeat so I look for a distraction, anything to stall and my gratification is rewarded when I hear the smooth beat of the radio. They keep it pretty low here, not blaring like other clubs you might go into. The tune is more classy and less trashy. More like something I can dance too, anyway. I hold out my hand to her, palm up. "Care for a dance before we call it a night?" My eyes flash daringly at her. |
