Jack Hayes
Lay me gently in the cold dark earth
No grave can hold my body down
The weeks leading to the opening of the new branch was decidedly uneventful - Jack having the majority of his time spent working tirelessly on the front lines of his company's work. Not, that he minded. Despite his shady dealings and overall terrible personality, he found he rather enjoyed his work, simply because it brought heartache and terror in the aftermath. A rather gleeful emotion it brought the CEO - the man himself having fought on the battlefield in a couple of wars, is what brought on his delight in warfare and his change into the undead. The all American boy with the innocent looks, a perfect facade to hide behind while he dealt on the darker spectrum of the world.
A yawn escapes his lips, a habit he kept after being turned, it was the middle of the day and far past his bedtime. Though, he had the ability to remain awake during the day, it was not always the easiest, Jack was definitely on the younger side of being a vampire. Although, his body hardly felt tired, he could feel it in his bones, the sluggishness that came with staying awake into the day. Jack had only decided to stay for the day simply because a certain journalist had kept hounding his receptionist for an interview. About what, he wasn't sure and yet, what he was sure about is that this freelancer would continue to harass him until he gave her what she wanted. Although, he was confident in his abilities to reroute the interview in a way that benefitted him the most. Mr. Hayes hardly ever giving something away free of charge - he always would get something out of it.
Reclining back in his chair, he interlocks his hands behind his head, one leg crossed over the over as his head tilts to the side, glancing out at the cloudy sky. He was not immune to the sunlight, the vampire having a certain type of glass installed for all his windows. A new UV ray blocking technology that he was pleased to have invested in. It worked surprisingly well and at least kept up a facade of normalcy in his tower of destruction. Despite being a vampire, Jack very well couldn't work at night all the time, bad form he supposed.
Jack is distracted momentarily by the speaker on his desk, his receptionist announcing the arrival of Isadore Dabney. A small curve of his lips tugs at the corner of his mouth. It was time to play a little game of cat and mouse, he was curious to see how well the journalist could keep up and yet, he was intrigued by the sudden interest in him. Rumors flew around the man on a daily basis, it was normal and intentional, he was merely wondering which rumors she had heard to be hounding him for an interview. Leaning forward, he unlocks his fingers from the back of his head and stands, buttoning the top button of his suit jacket as he moves with long strides towards the door. Reaching out a cool hand, he grasps the handle and yanks it open, an easy smile lingering on his lips as he first glances at his receptionist who snaps her head up in surprise. It was not often he greeted someone at the door.
"Thank you, Tiffany," his deep tenors hold an easy going tone. With a small hand gesture towards Isadore, he steps aside and invites her in, "Hello Ms. Dabney, come on in," he waits for her to move into his office before shutting the door behind her with a quiet click. "Please, have a seat," he says as he moves around his desk, a hand coming up to unbutton his jacket before he sits down. "Can I get you anything to drink? Coffee? Water? Tea?" He asks, that easy going smile remaining on his lips the entire time. He waits for her answer patiently before diving right into the thick of the matter, "What can I do for you, Ms. Dabney? I'm sure you've heard all the rumors circulating me - I'm happy to answer any questions you might have," he states charmingly.
