North

Within the Northern vicinity of the city, the wealthy gather behind meticulously trimmed hedges and high-class architecture. The pristine streets are paved with stone and the storefronts are brightly lit and inviting - for the right clientele. In the North, every establishment is eager to cater to the rich and the wealthy. Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - whether it happens to be illegal or merely involves looking the other way. Vampires and Dark Hunters are often found upon these Northern streets, their long lives often contributing to their sizable wealth which allows them the luxuries that the North provides.

the truth will set you free...
but first it will make you miserable

Of all the supernaturals to have made their home in Sacrosanct, vampires by far had been the most successful at life. It didn't help they had the unfair advantage of decades and centuries of life to hoard wealth and invest it. They understood how revolutionary some breakthroughs had been, having lived lives where even going to the bathroom wasn't as simple as flushing a toilet. Isadore did not envy them that at least - she very much loved her conveniences. Necessities now since most humans could not imagine a life without them. Electricity, running water, their own mode of transportation. Hell, Issy was the kind to thrill in being able to order in without ever having to step foot past her door.

It wasn't that she was poor. Isadore made a decent living as a journalist and podcaster. Still, there was something about the overwhelming expense around her that made her stomach sick. Maybe it was the cesspool of deceit that seemed to linger in here or it could be the receptionists slightly sweaty brow, her eyes looking a bit too frantic. When was her last high? Yeah, it seemed the lady was hankering for a fix. Oh, don't judge, Isadore hushes herself inwardly. There was no telling what had caused the lady to fall into such a crux or even if it WAS drugs (yeah, that was doubtful).

Before she can do more than shift slightly on her feet, about to approach the doors herself, Jack Hayes appears. He is tall, devilishly handsome, and wears the clean-cut suit of every elite businessman out there. If Isadore went for that sort of thing she would be falling all over herself at the sight of him. Instead, suspicion immediately sets in. She did not trust the elite in life - politicians said one thing and did another and more often than not, businessmen were just men working their way into being a politician. She had her fill of them after dating a politician for a year only to find him off with another social climber. That was enough for her.

The game begins with him gesturing her into his lucrative office and she enters with a charming smile, though her eyes immediately begin assessing everything. It is tasteful and expensive. The windows have a tinted cast that makes her eyes narrow. No one knew for SURE that Jack Hayes was a vampire but it had been insinuated, stated, hinted, debunked, over and over. Pairing the idea with the email about him forcing bargains on people, she had her suspicion. Her suspicion also meant not letting her guard down since she didn't trust supernaturals. It was only right to be wary of them - they were physically stronger and faster, predators to her prey.

She follows his lead, taking a seat in a comfortable chair across from him, crossing her legs though she does not relax back. She wasn't here for a fun get together and neither was he. "Thank you but I am fine, Mr. Hayes," she says smoothly, her dulcet voice filling the room. As soon as the words are out of her mouth he begins. Point for him, starting the interrogation on his own terms. Her lips twitch up at the corners, his admission of the rumors making one brow rise slightly. Immediately her hand pulls out her phone, hitting the record option. "Indeed I have, Mr. Hayes. Do you mind if I record our interview?" She tilts her head slightly before proceeding, giving him a scant moment to interrupt.

"What exactly is the details of your company and it's purpose? I have heard that you make weapons of wartime. A lucrative trade at certain times, especially now. Yet I've also heard rumors that your company has been involved with some less than reputable dealers. Dealers of our opposition. How do you respond to such remarks?" Her voice is sharp, though she offers him a charming, hopefully dis-arming smile.
