audette rousseau
There was little life to be had without those sweet French treats, of that Audette was utterly certain. Her jest that he simply could not live without the delectable taste of chocolate caused his lips to twitch ever so slightly, even if he tried not to show it. His all too serious retort prompted a warm simper upon her features before Audette nodded quite firmly. "Oui, you hardly even made it up the stairs." The ballerina informed him, regardless of how very far from the truth it was. She watched as his brow rose with a hint of skepticism, only to announce that she was a bad influence! Her! His insistence that he hadn't had a 'cheat' day in quite a while prompted a soft snort from her nose before her head shook ever so slightly. "Ah, mon amie, what is life if not without 'cheat' days?" She inquired, her hands rising to make quotation marks within the air. Though Audette was ever the athlete as he, she understood well what her body required. Protein was the preferable fuel to get through those arduous dancing sessions - but that did not mean she could not properly indulge either. Even chocolate, true good French chocolate, had its usefulness. Of course, he was American and those American sweets, she'd quickly found out, paled in comparison. Truly, Audette supposed she could not fault him terribly.
The youthful fae reached into the paper bag, pulling from it's depths the sugary croissant she had so greatly desired. Her fair features brightened at it's very presence before Audette's painted pink lips parted, only to delicately bite down upon the layers of flakey crust. Oh! How that sweet taste of chocolate and sugar blossomed across her tongue! The very flavor was utterly unforgettable and soft, a moan of satisfaction reverberated within the back of Audette's throat. Though it was hardly the sort of croissant she had grown up on, it was still unmistakably delicious. After all, few could compare to true French baking. The clove hue of her gaze turned towards her companion, if only to see how he was fairing with the sugary substance that decorated the croissant. She watched as he savoured his first bite, the powdered sugar all but coating his lap and clustering upon his nose. A soft giggle left Audette's sweetheart lips as she gestured up towards his nose, informing him of the white substance upon the tip of his nose. He seemed almost bashful as he quickly reached up to wipe the substance away. Her smile persisted all the same as he grumbled at the croissant within his hand, only to commend how he made something simple somehow difficult.
A small shrug crossed Audette's shoulders, though the girl was far more invested within her treat to offer much of a comment. The clove hue of her eyes turned towards the cityscape in front of her, Audette content to sip upon her latte as she indulged within her baked good. A comfortable sort of silence seemed to fall between the pair for several moments before Adrien inquired after her eventful stay within the metropolis, one she had mentioned only vaguely hours prior. A sheepish look crossed the girl's features as she sighed, Audette was certain she was going to be lectured for her presence within yet another alley way, but at least it had been in daylight this time! Nevertheless, she had promised the tale and easily Audette recounted the mugging and her fellow fae's dangerous affinity. She watched as a glimpse of surprise crossed the Dark Hunter's features. Kit's acidic pollen was apparently new to her companion as well. His inquiry of how she had fared caused her head to shake ever so slightly. "Non, though the other fae was shot in the arm and the men that he threw his pollen at....ah...I do not know their fate but I fear it was not good." She had remembered the awful stench of burning flesh. They were likely to regret that decision to hold up Kit for the remainder of their lives.
How oblivious the young woman was to the thoughts and emotions that afflicted her companion! Audette was still focused upon the poor fate of her would-be muggers, even if some might have deemed their burning something they deserved, Audette could not help the...compassion she felt for them. Another soft sigh left her lips as her head shook ever so slightly. Softly she inquired if the city was frequently this...exciting. How...disappointed she was to learn from Adrien that it tended to boast it's...thrilling moments. How terribly different Sacrosanct was to her idyllic hometown, though she supposed even Paris was known for its moments in comparison and she had certainly survived that. It was his comment that she needed a hunter on speed dial that caused her gaze to turn back towards him. Her brow rose as she watched the corner of his lips turn upwards. "Oh? Do I?" She commented, as he offered her a grin, only to suggest such an offer was one that can only be purchased on rooftops alone. "Ah, what good fortune, I happen to be on a rooftop." Audette answered, easily giving into his jest. "And what does the purchase of one hunter provide me with?" She inquired, her head tilted to the side ever so slightly as she popped the last bit of her croissant into her mouth.
