His alarm clock didn't go off. For a moment he thought he had overslept, knowing that he had a client meeting him at ten at the beach. He had been up late playing video games (he was practicing so he could beat Malia) so he knew there was no way he would be getting up early. Normally he was the type of person to rise with the sun, ready to start his day. But with how late he had stayed up, there was a huge risk of oversleeping today so he had set an alarm on his phone just in case.
After a brief moment of freaking out, Ashton shot up in bed and grabbed his phone as quickly as his sleepy mind could. His heart was beating rapidly in his chest. But when he looked at the time, it was 6:30 am. The sun was beginning to peek through the windows. Thankfully he hadn't slept in. Unfortunately, he had woken up at his usual time which meant he was only running off four or five hours of sleep. His body was still tired and he felt every bit of his lack of sleep.
Slowly, he rolled out of bed and combed through his hair. He pulled on his swim trunks and a muscle shirt. The outfit was perfect for the surf lesson he'd be teaching in a few hours. He figured his trip to get caffeine would be brief and his need for more appropriate attire would not be needed.
Grabbing his board, he began to walk down the streets of Sacrosanct towards the beach. As he came on a small café, he figured this might be the perfect place for a cup of coffee and a light breakfast. Once he opened the door, the small bell above the door signaling his arrival, he set his surf board against the wall by the door. He stepped forward, his flip flops flopping away as he walked.
Coming up to the counter, he smiled at the woman behind the counter. He spoke softly, his voice calm, his accent thick and southern. "I'll have a black coffee of whatever your breakfast roast is and a piece of your lemon loaf." He was never really a coffee drinker, but he preferred no extra cream or sugar. After all, he had to keep his figure (thought really, he was fit enough that a coffee with cream and sugar wouldn't hurt him at all). He handed the woman a few bills and then stepped to the side to wait for his order.
