With the $300 in her pocket, she felt on top of the world. This would pay for a couple of weeks at the motel. At least she'd be able to have a roof over her head for a few more weeks. Hopefully in that time she'd find herself an agent. Until then, she'd stick to singing karaoke and playing her guitar on the side of the road for whatever coins people could spare.
Finishing up the glass, she looked at him with a smirk when he said that she was more than just a pretty face. "I don't tell lies." At least not on a routine basis. She would never lie about her skills as a singer. She might underplay just how good she was, but she would never lie.
As for her other talents, those she didn't give up easily. "I don't share all my secrets to strangers." She didn't even know this guy's name. He could be a rapist for all she knew. She didn't know his name and he didn't know hers. There was no way she would spill her life story to him tonight. He'd have to try harder than that.
