I stare at the clothes on the bench before me, wondering what I should try on next. I'm trying to distract myself from the conversation going on just outside my dressing room door. Nadya and Raven talking about how Raven may or may not like Tobias. I've always known they were friends. I consider Tobias kind of a friend myself. We've hung out a few times and he's not so bad, not all the time anyway. A little odd but aren't we all? But to hear them talk about it out loud...does that mean things are going to change soon? Will Raven leave me? I don't want to be alone in that big house. It would be empty...and probably scary too. Would Isolt stay? Even though I don't know her very well, I think she's nice. That wouldn't be so bad then if she stayed but still, it wouldn't be Raven. My heart can beat a little closer to normal once the subject is changed and they are once again talkin gabout clothing. Nadya must be pointing out some more shirts for Raven cause she doesn't like the one she gave her. Then I hear rustling outside my door and I stiffen. I hear Nadya's voice telling me to try on a specific outfit so I nod my head as if she can see me before I remind myself that she can't. "Ok." I manage to reply as I look for the items in question and throw them on. I take my time coming out this time, listening as Raven tells her to go find some things for her, that she deserves it. I can't help but smile. They're actually getting along. Then I hear Raven's voice outside my door, telling me to come see the skirt Nadya picked out for her. Her voice lends me a little confidence and so I let a soft sigh fall from my lips as I push the door open and step out so she can see me. I take in her skirt, my eyes widening in surprise. "Wow, Raven! You look so cute!" I practically squeal. |
