Davante doesn't stay much longer, to my disappointment. He says a few flashy words to the witch and hunter before kissing her hand and making his exit. It's a graceful exit, I have to admit, but I still hate to see him go. It seems like the minute he's gone, the tension in the air just escalates and I feel shivers running up my spine, my eyes darting between all the different supernaturals in the vicinity, wondering what's going to happen next. The blonde man is scary in his own right. He gives me short words, all the while his eyes roaming up and down my figure like he's tasting me for his next meal. He turns his tune some when Raven comes to the bar but only when her hand slaps across his cheek does he seem to truly get it. Even then, he does nothing but caress his reddening cheek and give her a disinterested smirk. AS Raven pulls me away, I think nothing more of him. That is, until I feel his creepy presence once we're by the others at the door. Before I know it, he's got Raven by the throat up against the wall. I grit my teeth, my jaw clenching. I hate seeing someone do that to her. She's my best friend, my pack, the only one I have. How dare he!
But before I can act, he releases her and walks away as if nothing happened, pushing past everyone to get out the exit. I watch him walk with a new fire in my eyes. I feel something in myself snap a little. It's one thing when someone targets me because I'm used to it. I already believe I deserve it. But to target someone I care about, someone who has gone out of their way to protect and teach me? It's a new experience and I don't like it. Tobias comes along for the ride but the longer we stand by the door, the more I can tell he's not comfortable here either. At one point, he tells me that we need to leave, his eyes casting to Raven warily and I know what he's thinking. He must know about her feral mind, how easily she can turn against everyone she cares about. I nod to let him know I understand. But then the blonde man attacks Raven and Tobias is the one who goes feral. He shifts in a matter of seconds, a leopard standing where a boy once was. With a look to the green eyed man who I guess is his alpha, he turns to race after the blonde. I shiver again. How do I get myself into these situations?
The hunter moves faster than I've ever seen anyone move before. He makes an offhand comment before grabbing the witch and now I focus my attention on him, right before he goes into action. He starts loading arrows and shooting at everyone I know, pinning Raven by her dress, sending a chandelier down on Tobias, pinning the green eyed man and his companion. His eyes turn to me and I freeze, meetin ghis gaze, letting him see the fear bubbling there before he puts his bow away and turns his attention back to the witch. I am harmless, not a threat. I turn my gaze around at the others, checking for injuries. I smell blood. And then I see the green eyed man with his clothes turning red by his shoulder. The arrow went right through. I cringe. That must hurt. I look over as the witch shoves the hunter toward the door, telling him to go. She's letting him get away after what he just did? I don't get it. My eyes narrow at her. I don't like her already. Why would she defend him over the were who was only trying to protect her? That in itself is a discussion for Raven and I to have later. I want to know how she got involved with a witch because I don't think it's good for her health and this night is my proof.
Raven was not at all happy to be thrust against the wall by her throat but she kept up the fight the whole time with snarls and growls. I only heard her whimper once and it was short lived. By the time she catches her breath after the blonde man leaves, she's already shifting into her wolf form. I can tell by the look in her eyes that she's dangerous right now so I hold my ground. The arrow snags her dress, pinning her in place but she stills looks around snarling, flinging her paws out to knock stuff over. I only jump a little. Once she's free, she starts taking everything in. She uses her powers to get the chandelier off of Tobias, flinging it toward the hunter. She goes to Tobias, picking him up gently and bringing him to the green eyed man. I can see the apology in her eyes and I tilt my head, not understanding. She didn't do anything to him, the hunter did. She finally turns her attention on the witch, scolding her and I feel a scowl tug at my lips. I could say the same thing about her and the witch. But again, that's to be addressed later. I brush it off with a gentle sigh.
Now I watch the awkard display between Raven, Tobias, and the green eyed man. Tobias gets up after a while but he is distressed over the man's injuries. He lets out a howl that makes me bring my hands to my ears beofre he steps between the man and Raven, telling her to get away. I frown at this, slowly bringing my hands down. What is he so upset about? Why can't Raven be around him? He turns upon the other were who came with the man then, growling and shoving her aside. It seems he's very protective of the man, overprotective, some might say. He seems softer around the man and I brush some hair behind my ears, watching them with curiosity before I take a daring step forward.
"I can help him."
I murmur, sure that they can hear me. I hold out my hands, letting Tobias and the man see that I have no weapons or anything. My eyes are gentle and cautious but I know this is a step toward something. What, I don't know just yet.
"I know how to heal."
I offer as explanation. It is a new power, one I have yet to fully explore but I'm willing to do it for this man who I don't know, if only because I see that Tobias cares about him and Tobias is a friend of mine.
