I'll love you for a thousand more....
Despite her good nature, she is weary of the male with his erratic behavior. She held an innocence close to her heart, but this innocence did not make her ignorant to the darkness that lingered in the world and in some people's hearts. There was nothing she would have liked more than to turn back the clock to back when she was five and the world was simply a beautiful, magical place of possibilities. But lessons are taught in a way so they make a lasting impression in your mind, something you will never forget. It had been the reckless actions of a drunk driver that took the lives of her parents that fateful night, and when confronted with a crying 6 year old little orphan, all he did was shrug it off, not even caring about his actions as he was hauled off to jail. It had taken her a while to get over the coldness she felt, but she couldn't deny that it still lingered, hidden deep inside of her like a dormant dragon, the threat still constant even if it hasn't been seen in many years.
She scents the animal scent that lingered on all were creatures, immediately recognizing the equine cologne. Even without her heightened canine sense of smell, she would know the scent of horse anywhere as she had grown up in a small town with them literally everywhere, even owning a few of her own; plus they had a very powerful stench, something that took time to get used to. Upon her approach, a violet eye flashes from beneath the mess of blond that is draped over his head. 'What pretty eyes,' she thinks to herself, completely unaware of his ability to hear thoughts and that the voices of everyone within range were echoing in his head and causing him such mental unrest. At her question, he smirks, remaining silent for a few moments as if he is thinking about what she had said. "If I said no- what would you do?" he says, his voice cool as he stares out across the street.
His voice seems calm, but she is perceptive and easily picks up on an undertone of something else. He was hiding something, something that could be dangerous but she wasn't about to question it, simply wait to see if she is correct and it makes an appearance. She shrugs her shoulders, admitting to not really having thought out her plan all that much. "See if there was something I could do." It was a simple answer, calm and completely honest. If she had the capability of helping him, she would. Even if that meant getting him help from someone more qualified or simply just helping him figure out what the hell was wrong with him, whatever the case, she was here and she would help if he let her.
The wolf's inquiry about drugs see's amusement of sorts come from him, a chuckle rolling through his chest as he focuses on her. "No." It is all he says, the simplicity of the one word coming off as his way of ending the conversation entirely. Scarlett was a patient creature however and extremely determined to make him her friend even if he was a little bit odd. He momentarily frowns at something as silence fills the gap between them, his focus entirely on her. And then suddenly her pushes off of the light post he had been leaning on and came within an arms length of her. Despite this, she did not flinch, did not cower or fear. Animal instinct told her he was a prey animal, that if this were the animal kingdom he would fear her, everything else inside of her told her if he was going to hurt her he would have already done it, already lashed out in her initial approach. Plus, she was certain she could take him if a fight was what he desired, be it in human form or animal form.
"It's dangerous, you know, for a woman like yourself to be wandering about alone." he says casually, circling around her as he continued to talk. Emerald eyes followed him all the way around, simply following him as he continue his path around her. An intimidation tactic she was sure, similar to the way that Nadya had stood and lashed her tail, a show of dominance. Despite being a wolf, the concept of dominance really just went over her head. Living alone her entire life without the guidance of a pack, or really any were creature, had made her fiercely independent. She didn't need or really care about ranks to live her life, didn't need someone bossing her around. If that was pack life, well then she would stay a lone wolf till she died.
"It's terribly easy to run into the wrong crowd around here you know- especially given the events in the west of late involving that pack.....Nighttime, no, Nightshade. That's it." he continues, circling back to stand in front of her and sighing. Her eyebrow lifts inquisitively. 'Nightshade? Thats the pack Nadya was from, but she seemed nice enough,' she thinks to herself but does not say anything, willing to hear him out with all he had to say. "In the very least you should stay away from the West and the pack that lingers there, the last canine to have anything to do with that feline pack ended up with most of the bones in her poor little body broken. It was a painful thing to see, truly, they will lie to you though- just to lure you in if they can. Terrible creatures." He continues, shrugging and crossing his arms. Emerald eyes stare quietly, locking with what she could see of his violet eyes.
She wasn't sure what to make of the information he was telling her. Despite his warning, she would have to discover these things for herself. Silver tongues were a thing she knew all too well, and so she would heed his warning but not take it as the truth. Nadya had seemed nice, a little distrustful of the wolf, but nice. These two painted pictures in her mind did not match up, and soon enough she would discover the truth of everything for herself, based on her own opinion and the real truth, not what either side would spit at her. If his side was true, then she would be rather upset at the treatment of her kind. 'We shall see if you're telling the truth mister,' she thinks, distributing her weight to one leg so her hip popped out slightly as she continued to listen to him. "You asked if I was alright- no one has asked me that in rather a long time. Consider the information I gave you a token of appreciation for your effort. Just be wary."
By this time, the sun was beginning to make an appearance, and soon people would be out making the peaceful city chaotic once more. She nodded her head to him, a way of silently saying she had listened to everything he had to say. "Thanks for the heads up, i'll be sure to keep an eye out," she says, offering him a smile. Emerald eyes gently drift off of him as people begin to emerge from their homes, causing her smile to fade to a frown. Maybe she liked to sleep, but she also loved the peace that mornings provided. "I'm going to get breakfast, you can come- unless you have a better offer for the morning? It's Frost, by the way." his voice snatches her attention, causing her to realize he had stepped passed her and was pausing to see if she'd follow. "Breakfast sounds nice, if you don't mind me tagging along," she says, quickly scurrying after him and falling into step beside him. What a strange turn of events, how this simple morning of wandering had been met with a new companion. 'Frost is an odd name, but it seems fitting in a way,' she thinks, making mental note of the title he had given her to use for him. "Scarlett, or i've been called Scar, whatever works best for you," she hums, shrugging slightly at the choice of what to call her.
More people started to come out of their homes as they walked, one even almost running into her in his haste to get where ever he was going and not even offering an apology. Scarlett's eyebrows furrowed and she frowned, she didn't have the patience for this built up yet. Without much thought she twirled her finger nonchalantly at her side. Frost may have noticed the action but he certainly would notice the storm clouds gathering over the city even more. Thunder boomed like a warning for people to stay inside, the threat of rain imminent; in fact, it was simply waiting for the girl's cue before it unleashed a downpour over the city. Emerald eyes did not even glance up, she knew what she was doing, had done it hundreds of times. There was nothing like a good old fashioned thunder storm to keep the streets less crowded. Only when they reached where ever they were headed for breakfast would Scarlett release the rain and light up the sky. For a moment she glances to frost, offering him a coy smile as if to say 'I wonder where this came from all of the sudden.'
