North

Within the Northern vicinity of the city, the wealthy gather behind meticulously trimmed hedges and high-class architecture. The pristine streets are paved with stone and the storefronts are brightly lit and inviting - for the right clientele. In the North, every establishment is eager to cater to the rich and the wealthy. Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - whether it happens to be illegal or merely involves looking the other way. Vampires and Dark Hunters are often found upon these Northern streets, their long lives often contributing to their sizable wealth which allows them the luxuries that the North provides.

That was easily the best day of my existance, sleeping with her wrapped up in my arms. And then waking up to find she didn't leave as I was dreading the back of my mind. With my eyes unhazed by the faerie blood, she looked even more breath taking in the evening light. I laid there for the longest time, just watching her sleep and caressing her like it would be the last time. I ran my fingers through her hair over and over again. I traced her cheek bones and jaw line with my finger tip, delicately tracing her lips and back up over her nose and over the smoothness of her forehead. I could watch her forever, but then she slowly opened up her brilliant blue eyes, blinking in the dim lighting and I couldn't help but smile. "Good morning, beautiful." I whispered before giving her a delicate kiss.

We spent some time relaxing as the sun went down and then I admitted that I had some errands to run. I wasn't lying since I did have a secret party to prepare for but I also wanted to give her time to think, to let everything from last night sink in. I gave her one last kiss, first on the lips and then on the forehead, closing my eyes and sinking into it, inhaling her sweet perfume and never wanting to let her go. But in the end I left and went to do my preparations for the night, my head already spinning with so many possibilities. I didn't know what our next time together would be like but I knew that I wanted it to mean something. She knows it took a lot for me to lay my heart out and admit how I feel about her but I know that won't be enough. She needs to know without the sliver of a doubt just how much I want her in my life. I have a past and it doesn't set a good example for our future.

I am scared to death of this relationship, I'll admit that, at least to myself. I'm not good at commitment and never have been. I usually push people away but the thought of life without her makes me sick to my stomach. I know that I want to fight for it, for her, whatever it takes. And so I've got the idea churning in my head but the next time I show up at Red on the Water, knowing she'll be there working late. She usually likes to surround herself with work when she's got a lot on her mind. And so I show up at work in faded jeans and a blue tshirt, a sly smirk on my lips as I step through the door and look around for her, wondering if she'll be in the office. But there she is, looking pretty as can be as she hands off some drinks to a couple at the bar. Taking my time, I greet a few VIP customers on the way in, stopping to exchange light conversation before I mosey over to the bar.

Leaning across the counter, I slide her a set of very familiar car keys, I'm sure. It's to the car she gave me, the one her brother wanted restored. And it's finished and waiting for her outside. Before she can voice her arguments about it being mine to drive and such, I throw up a hand with a tsk tsk sound in my throat. "We have somewhere important to be in about ten hours or so and I want you to be my chaffeur. Plus I want you to hear that engine purr like it was made to." My lips crinkling in a snarky grin, my eyes glow with mischief as I leave the keys to her care and turn toward the door before I turn back, slowly bringing up my hand, palm up. "Shall we?" My fingers give a "come here" signal, aiming for her hand in mine before I head to the door and the start of a very important road trip.
