After her first day in America, it didn't take Roisin long to realize that she wasn't staying in the nicest place in town. Not wanting to have a repeat of her first day, she decided to grab her few belongings and find a nicer place to stay until she got a more permanent home. The Irish girl had a pretty decent amount of money saved up so she knew that she was able to afford something a little bit better. Besides, if she absolutely needed to she could ask her family to wire her some money, they did after all support every decision she made considering she was the most level-headed Collins. After asking a few people who were familiar with the city where nice hotel was, she was directed to a place called The Witchery. It still amazed her how open-minded people here seemed with the supernatural. It made her wonder just how many 'others' were here, because the most contact she had with other witches was her family. It took some getting used to, she wasn't sure she was ready to come out and just tell everyone who she was, but then again she did wear a pentagram necklace. Some people who saw it would look at her in fear because they were ignorant of what it actually stood for, and then there were others who seemed to be like her that would respect it and not say much about it. Either way it didn't bother her much, she was who she was, and if anyone couldn't handle that they could just walk away. When the taxi pulled up to the hotel she climbed out of the car and stared up at the building with wide eyes. She wasn't used to seeing buildings like this in cities, she was used to the castles scattered around Ireland, but there was still much grandeur in this place. Her tongue brushed over her lips as she shook her shock away and grabbed her duffel bags and suitcases from the taxi. After paying and leaving the man a pretty good tip she wandered into the building, her suitcases stacked together were pulled behind her, but as always her violin case was across her back snuggly. She never let her violin get far, it was one of her most prized possessions, and sometimes she felt like there was magic in it that only she could access. Then again, any individual who could play instrument with such flawless perfection usually felt that way about their own instruments. Roisin finally reached the front desk and she smiled brightly at the woman behind it, and her hand lifted to tuck a stray strand of hair behind her ear. Her upper body was covered by a red t-shirt that hung slightly loose over her thin frame. Lower limbs were covered by a pair of skinny jeans that were also slightly loose on her, but then again most clothing was. It's not that she wasn't healthy, on the contrary, she was a very healthy girl, but she had a dancer's body and she wasn't one of those girls that would wear clothes that clung to her. She found them restricting, and restriction was one thing she hated, but that was to be expected by someone whose ruling element was earth. "Hello, this is a lovely place. I was wondering if you had any rooms available." A heavily accented vocal gave out in a sweet tone, and once again was punctuated with her smile. Her teeth found her lower lip and she bit down on it for a second, she was still getting used to talking to people outside of her social circle. It was strange to her sometimes to hear voices much different from those back home, but as with everything else it would be a learning process. That didn't help her home sickness though; she desperately missed the green rolling hills, but she would be back to visit in no time. |
