Scarlett Trivale

So try to love me
And i'll try to save you

Scarlett was so lost in her own mind, she hadn't noticed him walk by. To be truthfully honest she hadn't expected anyone to walk by her with how hard it was raining because of her, so she hadn't been paying attention, listening or smelling for anyone. If he had kept walking by, she never would have known he was there or that he had walked literally right in front of her, but the moment he stopped and her name slipped past her lips was the moment that she jumped lightly, pulled back to reality and away from the sad world the rain had hypnotized her in to. Her head perks up from it's position buried in her knees, her tears camouflaged from the rain but not the redness in her eyes. "Frost," she murmurs back quietly, just loud enough for her voice to travel over to him through the sound of the rain hitting earth around them. There is surprise written across her face. The young girl hadn't expected to run into him so soon, and especially not in this park once more; it was ironic really, and if the circumstances were better she would have surely laughed about it.

Her green eyes cannot help but stare at him. He still holds that cold, indifferent air about him, but still she remembers what she has seen and continues to see good in him even now, and more than anything wants to be his friend; perhaps that was her optimism and stubbornness, to always see the best in everything and everyone even when there are reasons she shouldn't. He is still handsome as ever, and when she looks at him she has to try and keep her thoughts about the kiss that they had shared at this very park from reaching him, her first kiss had been given to him and he didn't know. She knew he was in her thoughts, voluntarily or not, and the last thing she wanted was for him to know she still thought about that. Heaven knows how he would react, what he would say, if anything, but just his knowing alone was enough to embarrass her.

She remains quiet as he moves and sits beside her, her gaze shifts out over the park with his own as she continues to hug her knees close to her chest, her chin using them to rest on. Somehow his presence has at least calmed and distracted her enough to stop her crying, but not from the cold she has created as her body shivers pitifully. His words see a half smile grace her lips, at least enough for the edges to twitch upward but it doesn't last too long. "Sorry, I can't really control it when i'm upset. It feeds off my emotions," she says quietly, her mind trying desperately to stop the rain all together but all she can manage is to slow the rain down just a little bit. "I'm also sorry if I smell like wet dog," she says, and it's an attempt at a joke, a small sign that the true, happy go lucky Scarlett was still there, just buried slightly by sadness. With a little help, she could uncover that girl once more.

His next words see her struggle to find a response. Never has she had a problem with sharing, but these wounds were so fresh she feared that if she tried talking about it she'd break down again. After a moment of silence she finally finds her voice, as quiet as it may be. "My grandparents died," she starts, and it doesn't seem like much but there was clearly more to this story than that, and she finally gets the courage to look back over at him and make eye contact with what showed of his beautiful gaze. "They were the only family I had left. They raised me after my parents died and they supported me even after I was bitten, when I started acting strange and wouldn't tell them what was wrong with me. I....I just.....I knew deep down it would come eventually...it's a fact of life.....it just happened so suddenly I didn't have any time to prepare.....My grandfather died first, I never even got to say goodbye to him, and when I got down there to be with my grandmother and for the funeral, she passed away too," she is fighting back tears as she speaks quietly, not sure if he's listening but even if he wasn't it was helping to just talk about it, to release everything that had built up inside of her. "I had to bury them. I was the only one at their funerals. And now i'm completely alone.... I've never had a pack, I don't have a family anymore, and i'm not even sure if I have any friends. I mean I like to think some people are my friends but I can never tell how they feel about me, so I just don't know." One of those people she wasn't sure was her friend was none other than Frost.

She falls quiet as she bites her lip and simply looks down, having a hard time continuing to maintain eye contact. She was pitiful, she knew it and she didn't even have to see herself to know it. God knows what Frost was thinking of her, and for some reason his opinion of her seemed to really matter. "I'm just at a point in my life where i'm lost, alone, and I don't know what to do," she admits, and even now she is selfless because she can never ask for help. She always faces her problems alone, doesn't want to burden anyone else, and always wants to help other people with their own problems over hers.
