I know that I'm not the easiest to get along with. Caesar reminds of such on a daily basis with his huffs and grunts and growls wiht every "conversation" that I try to have with him. I'm stubborn to a fault and when I don't like something, I tell you rather than keep it to myself. I guess you could say no one ever taught me to keep my mouth shut if I have nothing good to say. I have so many questions but it doesn't mean I have to like the response I get, especially when it comes to humans. I've watched them do too many horrific things in my lifetime to ever look at one without any form of distaste. He doesn't seem to understand and I didn't really expect him to, especially no knowing that he likes to collect their trinkets and actually finds beauty in them. He must be more human-minded than he thinks. I like things of function and my life has always been a simple one. Eat, sleep, interact. What good does looking at a painting do for me?

His blunt response when I talk about humans makes me growl and flick my ears back. "Well it must be nice to have had a different perspective all your life. I didn't get that luxury. What have humans ever done for you?" The question is almost accusing. If he wants to defend them, fine, but I want to know why. I know I have his full attention when I mention the full moon and it's effect on me though. I scowl at his response. "That would mean leaving my pack though. They're all I've ever known." Not to mention that the idea of submitting to anyone makes my hair ruffle on end. I didn't want to say it out loud and further agitate him since I can already read the signs. I didn't even submit to Caesar. I think he just tolerates me because I basically feed the pack. The panther apparently didn't think about the fact that my pack isn't like what I guess a Were pack would be like. The members aren't logical thinking creatures that wait to hear an explanation. They think only of survival and a panther waltzing into the territory would only create chaos.

I offer to take him somewhere else instead and I can hear him running with me when I take off toward the cliff I know so well. I ran across it while hunting and it's been burned into my mind ever since. I like the freedom I feel on the edge and the danger I can sense from being so close to oblivion. I watch his gaze widen as he stops beside me, taking it all in and I can only guess he's never found this before. I feel a sense of satisfaction to know I found a special place in the city he's supposed to call home. When I ask if he's ready to jump, he asks if I ever have before and I shrug. "First time for everything." I mumble before coiling my legs and leaping off. It would have taken away all the fun out of it to admit I've gotten curious enough to jump off before and found a ledge not far below that you can't see from the top. The ledge hangs out pretty far so you'd have to jump at an odd angle to miss it and believe me, I've tried, just for curiosity's sake, of course.

I turn to face the cavern that opens up, going right into the side of the cliff that the panther is still standing on. I look up, waiting to see if he'll come after me or chicken out. I would call out to him but then he'd be able to tell I'm not far enough away to be at the bottom. Instead I sit and wait. Consider this a test of sorts. I want to see just how far this panther will go to satisfy his own curiosity.
