Amelia is not saying that some vampires are not worth hating, because some are. She wished some vampires wouldn't give the species such a bad name, but she cannot control them. So she tries to educate when she can, teaching that not all of a species are worth hating. Some can be friendly and amicable. The same could be said for other species too. No one species was perfect and they all had their flaws. Amelia just tried to see the good in each person, rather than in a species. When you individualize it, it's easier to forgive.
Despite her feelings on the matter, she didn't judge or blame others for their hatred. It was a fact of life. She knew Troy hated vampires â€" what his reason was, she didn't know. But she did not judge him for it. He was free to believe what he wanted. Only when he turned on her would she have an issue with his beliefs.
His warning to her had caught he off guard. She didn't think he cared enough to worry about her. She knew she was a kind soul and she knew not everyone was. However, she was careful. She was never too quick to trust â€" after all, that's why she hesitated going with Troy at the vampire bar. "Oh darn. I was hoping you'd stick pretty close." She giggled lightly, only half-playing. She did enjoy Troy's company. While she didn't think a romantic relationship was in their future, she hoped one founded on friendship was.
They banter about undressing each other with their eyes and it comes naturally to Amelia. She's never been that good at flirting, but it came easy with Troy. She thought she would be a little more rusty. After all, it had been several decades since she was interested in someone. But it came easy to her in this moment and she wasn't entirely sure why. "I don't mind. It's been decades since someone made me want to show myself off." She admitted these words to Troy, telling him how much she meant to him. Hopefully her words meant something to him just as they meant something to her.
When they pull up the restaurant, Amelia knows that Troy won't like the valet parking, but there isn't an option other than to park several blocks back and walk. Unfortunately for Amelia, she did not want to be walking in the dark for several blocks. Already her heart rate was racing from just being outside the safety of her own home. "I trust them." She watches how he interacts with the employee over the safety of his car. She tenderly places her hand on his thigh, more so to get his attention that to turn him on. "Troy..." Her words are soft as she tried to get his attention, trying to get him to lay off a little bit. She knew how much that car meant to him, but he didn't have to be an ass to the valet.
She steps from the car when Troy finally hands over the keys. She makes sure her dress is completely out of the car before she closes the door and steps around the back of the car to where Troy is. She gingerly wraps her arm through his as she steps towards the front of the restaurant. "I am."
She walks with Troy into the restaurant. They head towards the hostess who grabs a couple of menus and tells us to head her way. The restaurant is packed â€" like it always is. But Amelia has a private room booked for her and Troy. They go through an archway that leads into the private suite. The hostess seats them at the romantic table for two and hands them their menus. As she leaves the suite, she closes the curtain for privacy. A pianist enters and sits down at the grand piano in the corner of the room. He begins to play, filling the room with beautiful music. He is soon joined by a cello, base player, and violinist. The string trio and the pianist play in time with one another.
Amelia opens the menu, browsing over the contents while she contemplates what she will be eating today. While she can eat real food, it offers her no nutritional value. She doesn't eat food often, but she figured she would tonight...for Troy's sake. "Order whatever you'd like. Dinner is on me tonight." The waiter comes and takes their drink order, Amelia ordering a glass of red wine.
