Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
Samantha Cassidy
It was that still human side of her that clung to the admission of guilt that the man had offered her and twisted it into that palpable thing. It was certainly something to be able to hang on to that guilt. She felt it radiating off of him as readily as she could feel any emotion, and it was that cold rage she'd had for so long that had her speaking so harshly towards him, going as far as to blame him personally for what had happened to her. But it was his fault, was it not? If he was going to generalize her based by her species, then why couldn't she do exactly the same to him. It was that alone that had her words so entirely sharp to the golden-haired Hunter. It was decidedly more cruel than Samantha would have normally been, but the Fae Queen was quickly finding that she cared so little for the Hunter that had barged into her life so abruptly and threatened the one person other than Aiden that Samantha could honestly say that she loved and cared for. It was that alone that had the faerie girl suddenly so angry and let out that stream of words that seemed so decidedly cruel for her. She cared so little that it wasn't the fault of this Hunter in particular. She wanted him to feel that rage and hurt and brokenness that she had felt for the nearly six years that had followed that incident.
She could tell she was getting to him. The empath could feel his anger rising so readily and yet she didn't care. She didn't care about him or his feelings. She could feel that anger rising within him and for a moment, she considered raising it herself if only to make him feel something. But he seemed to not need her help as that anger boiled over and his words came out with all the fury of a hurricane. The anger flared around him, and Samantha's own eyes narrowed slightly. It was cruel to get pleasure from his anger, and yet he had thought her weak, had he not? Still, her blue eyes settled on him with nothing but calmness as he yelled at her. She was still. Calm. Poised. Everything that a Fae Queen should be in that moment, until he accused her of not being careful enough. It was then that the anger spiked within the queen and her fists clenched. But she hardly had time to open her mouth before the glasses on her counter exploded so suddenly, and it was that alone that had the composure of the Fae Queen shattering as well.
"Don't," Samantha spoke, her affinity lashing out to grab ahold of the man and his emotions. It was so easy to feel them, though she didn't manipulate them - not yet. He seemed to get that anger under control quickly enough, though she took advantage of the breathing he clearly struggled with for a moment to speak. "I did nothing that I shouldn't have, and it still wasn't good enough. And you are within my home, in my kingdom, you will not raise your voice to me again." The queen didn't offer a threat, though she knew so well she could, and probably should, have. She fell silent once more as he spoke of Dorian, confirming exactly what she knew that Dorian's death would have been at the Hunters had he not taken matters into his own hands to save himself. If the Hunter was attempting to calm her anger, it was certainly not working. "I think you'll find that I am not afraid of the Council, not really."
She was more than willing to give away just an inkling of how much power she may have held within her monarchy, the girl insisting on the loyalty of those girls at the burlesque. They may not have all sworn to her or even pledged to her any faith, but there were more that were loyal to her as the queen than those who didn't, and the girl's eyes narrowed at the snort that left the Hunter. Samantha had only began to open her mouth to speak when he spoke of Nadya, then Aiden, then Tobi. Her eyes narrowed at the Hunter. "You will not speak ill of any of them," She commanded. "If you know anything about me you'll know that my loyalty is entirely to the Nightshade pack, and the same is true in reverse. Aiden Tetradore and I are very close." It was the truth, was it not? Sharing a bed with the man on a regular basis certainly screamed close.
It was only when he answered her final question, confirming that she had hardly answered the question, and yet Samantha could hardly give him any information of the powers of those in her monarchy. She knew of Ivy's ability to manipulate plants, and knew of Troy - if he joined her - and his ability to fly. Dorian... she should probably ask Dorian about his powers. But still, those were theirs to give away if they chose, and she would not betray them. Instead, once again she reached out to grasp ahold of his emotions with her power, an almost devilish smirk appearing on her lips. "I suppose I can answer your question a little bit better then," She commented, and then she shifted his emotions.
She made him happy first. The kind that made you feel as though you were floating on clouds and could never possibly be any happier. She held that emotion just long enough for him to react to it before she switched it so abruptly to anger once more, holding that only for a second or two before she brought on the worst kind of sadness you could imagine to settle on the man. Like all the others, she held that for only a moment. She considered letting go of him then, but she looked at the man who had threatened her best friend and instantly she tugged his emotions toward fear. This emotion she held, her azure eyes fixing on his golden ones as she spoke.
"Don't ever threaten me, my Monarchy, or the Nightshade pack again, do you understand?" She said slowly, holding that emotion on him just long enough to speak before she let it go, allowing whatever emotions that would flood the man to play out, the girl curious entirely of what he might say.
