Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

kissing death and loosing my breath
There was a reason behind every action that the young woman did....well, most of the time. After all the witch was still very much upon the cusp of true womanhood. Her life seemed to have been perpetuated forward by her mentor's murder, leaving her finally in a position to either sink or swim. She had every opportunity within the world - a house, a shop, and a faithful following. All she had to do was make it work. It hardly bothered her, that which lay before her. Serafina was more then capable of getting her hands dirty, delicate or not. She took on responsibility well and although she didn't care to admit it, she knew that her mentor would secretly have been pleased by even her last act of defiance. "Witch blood is worth much these days." She stated simply, choosing not to go into too much detail on the magical properties of that which flowed within her veins. She didn't expect that the wolf...her familiar, that is, would take it upon herself to murder her for the pure value of witch blood but, you never could be too careful. Truthfully, she didn't even know that much about the dog...er....were. Her grey tinged gaze slowly slid towards the canine settled beside her, inquisitive of the human form that lay beneath that peculiar colored fur. It was something she was going to have to keep in mind.

With the car speeding down the road and back towards her home (because really she had no where else to go but to return to the scene of the crime), Serafina finally found herself relaxing within the driver's seat. Her attention acutely settled upon the road in front of her. She didn't stir as the female's mind brushed up against hers with the exception of the shrug that graced her shoulders. It was hard, opening up to how she felt to a complete stranger. Nonchalance came so much easier then actually admitting that she needed company. "If you want to." She replied, carefully before falling silent again, thinking over the inquiries the woman had spoken. Serafina knew what a familiar was...to an extent but she had never recounted a tale of a half human, half wolf being bound to any singular witch. They were supposed to be spiritual creatures right? They were supposed to have come from the other realms, or so she thought. "A familiar is supposed to be a spiritual guide for a witch. To teach her how to grow into her powers, to serve her, and to protect her while she learns." She was reciting from a book now and as those syllables left her lips she found her attention shifting back towards the wolf with a small glint of suspicion.

Although the wolf had certainly served to protect her, a disbelieving part of her found it difficult to believe that this creature was going to help her grow into her powers in any kind of way. After all, everyone knew she was about as powerless as a cursed frog. She shook her head slightly, forcing the thought out of her mind. "Serafina. My name is Serafina." She spoke at last before falling silent once again, having answered all the questions presented to her. It was that way that she remained for the rest of the drive until she'd pulled up back in front of her house, her eyes briefly accessing the damage done to her yard. "I'll have to fix the fence tomorrow." She stated simply to no one in particular before stepping out of the car and heading up the steps of the town house as if nothing had happened at all. Quite frankly, in that moment, the only thing Serafina wanted was a shower and to curl up deep within her plush sheets and push all of what had occurred away into some dark recess of her mind.
