Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
That sudden sound of coughing drew the young woman's attention away from those cauldron's that had s previously occupied her. Her steel-blue eyes swept over that peculiar scene she was presented with a brief glimpse of concern upon her features. It took her a moment to put the pieces of what had occurred together, Azrael's own words helping considerably as she eyed that blue powder that he referred to. Identifying the dust was quite near easy for the girl, that blue hue unmistakable. She rolled her eyes at her boyfriend's obvious theatrics, that fellow witch, though silent for fear of the disgruntled Dark Hunter, still seemed almost...amused. She was altogether quick to reassure him that he was hardly going to die from breathing in rock dust, as uncomfortable as such a gesture surely was. That exasperated sigh certainly audible as she informed him exactly what the dust was. That deepening of the scowl on the man's handsome features only caused a small shrug to brush across her shoulders. "Well, no." She admitted, "You arn't supposed to breathe it in but...you did." She pointed out, as useless as such information surely was. "Don't worry, Azrael, I won't let you die by some powdered rocks." She reassured the man. After all, as insufferable and utterly ridiculous as he could be when it came to magic, he was still her Hunter.
She hardly protested all the same, as the man guided her from those minerals and oils to a different part of the market instead, this one holding items of a far more magical nature, one that even Serafina could near feel on her skin. It was a sort of magic that even she felt some sort of connection to, a magic that near hummed within her in a facet that even the grumpy, independent witch couldn't explain. The simple presence of it, however, caused her gaze to shift to her boyfriend, the woman keeping a close eye on him all the same for any sort of discomfort he might experience. After all, it was with Azrael alone that she attempted to afford some sort of consideration as to what she was and how it surely might affect him. It was stupid, she knew it was stupid and yet, she still found herself worrying wordlessly about it all the same as they continued down that pathway with that myriad of colored tents.
Her steel blue eyes drifted over the goods in the tents they passed, the girl momentarily distracted by a display of tarot cards in their various designs and intricate card faces. Her hand reached out, only moments are from touching one before Azrael's voice pulled her attention elsewhere. Her eyes followed the gesture of his hand, the woman eyed that tent before her with a small crinkle upon her forehead and furrowed brows. She could feel the sheer strength of that magic that came from that tent, the very kind of magic that sent her own kind scurrying from that pathway. Perhaps it was her own obscure connection with death that saw her face that peculiar seller with some measure of head-on confidence, or perhaps it was her own overwhelmingly stupid rebelliousness. Frankly, Serafina was certain it could be either, even as she explained to Azrael exactly why her own kind even saw fit to avoid that woman and her bottled animal bits. The very ingredients alone gave away the sort of magic this woman practiced. Forbidden magic. The Dark Arts, as some more modern witches preferred to call it, likely thanks to some popular magical works of fiction. Those hushed words muttered back towards her only saw the girl nod in confirmation and yet, rather than join her fellow witches in avoiding the tent, she found herself suddenly....inquisitive of the woman and that illicit magic.
She could feel Azrael's eyes staring at her at the sheer suggestion of stepping into that tent. It was that certainty that he wouldn't go unless she forced him that saw her hand reach out for his, the girl setting her chin ever just so as she mad her way with clear purpose toward that very tent. She could near feel that magic upon her skin and yet, she refused to skirt in fear from it all the same. Azrael's soft assertation that this was a poor idea only saw the woman nod in agreement. "I know." She whispered back only to present the Death witch with a rather warm grin. Her own greeting was uncharacteristically cheery and yet, she was hardly perturbed by that lack of a response she received. Rather, her attention turned towards those goods for sale, her eyes skirting over those jars of formaldehyde and viscera were fascinating in some horribly macabre way. She was well aware of that sensation of the witch's gaze staring hard into the back of their heads, that simple creeping sensation caused goosebumps on her skin, prompting her hand to tighten its grip upon the Dark Hunter's own.
The sudden sound of Azrael's voice attempting to break that 'ice' caused her gaze to shift upwards towards the 'spoon' he so referred to. Her gaze slowly turned from the wooden 'spoon' and towards the witch, as if she too was waiting for...well....something. That price caused her eyebrow to arch ever so slightly and yet, unlike Azrael, she had the tact to..well, keep her thoughts of the price to herself. It was rather clear the witch had little desire to sell to them, as if they were the sort of clientele beneath her, and thus worth exponentially inflating the prices of her own goods. It was a tactic she herself had done before if only so she didn't have to waste her time with someone who she knew wouldn't buy. She tugged the man along, her gaze continuing to skirt over those items s she made her way around that tent, nothing truly catching her own interest as far as her magic was concerned. She was but several steps from leaving that tent behind before a sound caught her own attention, Azrael's near immediate reaction to it alone caused her to abruptly turn with a hint of concern upon her features.
It took the young witch a moment to realize exactly what had caught her boyfriend's attention, the woman shifting ever so slightly glance at that feline beneath that cloth. It hardly took Serafina long to come to the same conclusion as Azrael on what the woman intended to do to that very creature. Its death was quite near imminent if they left it behind. Her gaze briefly drifted around that tent as Serafina bit her bottom lip, almost unsure if she could leave that cat to its fate or if she was fond enough of it to intervene. Frankly, she was almost surprised when Azrael inquired how much that cat was and yet, even that hardly compared to how much her gaze widened at the simple announcement of the price and species of that very animal. She knew what that was. She knew exactly what that was. The girl tugged near immediately on Azrael's shoulder with a certain sort of franticness, her lips moved towards the man's ear, that urgency all the more clear even in those whispers. "Oh my god, Azrael, that's a fucking steal. These things are like borderline extinct. There's only like 20,000 adult ones in the WORLD. We can't let her kill it." She was already shifting through her purse, as if to see which credit cards she had on hand to know just how many she would need to max out to rescue something so decidedly precious.
