Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
OOC: First off, thank you for finding that passage that said his sisters name! Lol, i looked all over and couldnt find the mention of it so i improvised. There wasnt a moment in time that he didnt replay his interactions what Adelaide through his mind, analyzing, wondering if he would have done anything different. But of course he knew he wouldnt. He was a creature of instinct and everything he did came from the heart. It was always how he reacted to any given situation, out of compassion and patience. Always wondering what hed like someone else to do for him if he were in the same situation. He loved that they had things in common. Maybe the instances weren't exactly the same but they could still understand how the other must have felt. It helped bridge them faster than any amount of story time could. She wanted someone to see her for more than just her wealth and he wanted someone to see him as something other than a handyman who can take some punches. She had dreams to see the world and he just wanted someone to share it with. He was a free spirit but hed spent most of his life traveling, whether around town or from town to town. They connected so well and he didnt think he could have planned it any other way for them to meet and connect like they did. Too soon and he would have been with Becca, still thinking he had to be in love because they got along well and he didnt have the constant urge to roam when he was with her. Too late and he might have been a very different man, maybe homeless or bitter with his life, or maybe just thrown in a ditch somewhere dead if Doug had gotten to him. But he was thankful to have found Adelaide when he did. He wouldn't have it any other way. She completed him in a way no one else ever could. They could have had more time together if they met as kids or something but he might have been different then. She might have been too. Maybe they would have hated each other instead of bonding. Their experiences is what drew them together. He had to believe that if they didnt have that, they wouldnt be the same people nor would they connect like they did. He would never forget what he told her that night under the stars. He still didnt think he deserved her but he would work every day toward feeling like he did if it was the last thing he did. She was smart and beautiful and so many other things and he was just Taylor, the man who dropped out of school and got odd jobs to pay the bills. She owned her own business now and he still made a living off of doing her yard work. He was making good money but he needed something better, something he could make a career out of. He wanted to provide for Adelaide. Instead he felt like he was living off of her. He didn't like it. But he would walk through fire to be with her. There wasnt anything he wouldnt do for her. She continued to tease him, saying she did know how he liked to help those who needed it, her eyes practically begging for him to do just that. She drove him crazy without even trying. He listed off all the things she did to him and he could see the satisfaction glittering in her eyes. She was proud of herself. He chuckled when she said she kept things interesting for him. "Sure do." He agreed readily. She teased about him being in the kitchen and he said that Townsend's cooking couldnt be that bad. She said that it wasnt but that she would be more interested if he was there. He chuckled. "Well i wouldnt want to distract you from the food you'll find there." He watched her fork a piece of steak into her mouth, watching her lips with way too much intensity before she said that he wasnt wrong but she wanted to do more than silently observe. He smirked. "I'm all yours, darling. You can look AND touch. Those are the rules." He winked. She seemed happy that he wanted to cook a meal together. He'd have to make it something interesting so shed enjoy herself. He told her that he was okay with planning the trip as they go and he could see the tell tale glitter in her eyes that said she was eager to get started. Now that he knew about it, so was he. His mind was burning with all the possibilities of where they could go. He wanted to show her everything. He was surprised that shed never made a pillow fort before, telling her that would change after tonight. She teased about them being too old for it and he shook his head. "Nonsense. Never too old for a pillow fort." When she was done, she said it was delicious and he smiled. "I'm glad you enjoyed it." His eyes softened. He did enjoy cooking. She leaned over to kiss his cheek and he smiled and leaned into her lips, closing his eyes with an "mm" sound before he watched her get up and go wash her dishes. He looked up and smirked. "Who do you think you are, washing your own dishes?" His tone was playful, his eyes teasing. As he finished his own steak, she walked around behind him and he tilted his head a little. He trusted her but she was unpredictable and he didnt know what ideas she might get up behind him. He thought he heard fabric rustling but he was almost afraid to turn his head. Then she leaned down behind him and whispered in his ear and he grinned. "Always." He said back as he went to stand. As her teeth found his lobe, he groaned and closed his eyes. "More than ready now." He whispered back hoarsely. As he stood and looked at her though, he took in her new appearance, his brows lifting as he cleared his throat. "Always keeping me on my toes. Don't know how I'm going to focus on making the perfect pillow fort now." He groaned as he put his dishes in the sink and came back over. He walked down the hall and into the bedroom, grabbing all the sheets and pillows off the bed. He made a bag with the comforter and stuffed it all inside, making his way back into the living room with the comforter slung over his shoulder. "Delivery for miss Adelaide LaBelle." He smirked, setting it down on the ground. Then he surveyed the living room, rubbing his chin where his five o'clock shadow was starting to get stubby. "We're gonna need to do some rearranging to do this right." |
