Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

I'm about to make my own way, heaven help me keep my faith

This is not the first time the sky blue eyed witch had lost control, and it is certainly not the first time she had lost control over the flames she has rediscovered that she is able to wield. The first time had been in her grandparents first home, before they had been forced to move to the city due to anyone having discovered their granddaughter's special gifts. The pale eyed girl had barely been in kindergarten. It was when they had lived on the farm in the small town, the park that had grown the ingredients for her grandad's whiskey. Kathryn had been able to run around with such carefree abandon as dark tresses would fly out behind her, the sky blue eyed young witch was well aware of her powers, had been for quite some time now. AS she moved the wind, a smile would tug upon her face. The sable haired child relished in her freedom of the large stretch of land, and she played with the wind as it were her very best friend.

Fire, on the other hand, the sable haired girl, she feared it, her flames. Kathryn adored the way it lit up a room, how she had been able to alight her own birthday candles when the sable haired witch had turned five. She liked the way the flames could flicker and shine, how it could warm her red haired grandfather and her grandmother with the same sable locks as Kathryn and the same pale, blue eyes. The brunette child witch had been eager to show her Gram her new tricks, her blue gaze alight with excitement. But the witch with eyes like the baby blue sky had quickly learned that fire was not as easy to control. It was as alive as you and I.

The sable haired girl had been practicing her magic one day, a sweet yet determined smile on her face as her silver blue eyes were focused. She was not supposed to practice new magic without one of her grandparents present to supervise her in case something should happen, especially when the silvery blue eyed girl was working with her fire. A single flame rested in her tiny hand as it reflected in those bright, icy blue eyes. But the awe and wonder in those silver blue eyes quickly turned to terror as she watched the flame grow and grow. Kathryn and flung her arms out in panic, hoping to stem the strength the fire was gaining, but it would not be so easily beaten. The flames went every where, catching fire to the bookshelf, to the sofa, paintings and with tears in her silver blue eyes, glistening as they fell down her cheeks, Kathryn let out a wild scream. Those crystalline eyes went blind with panic, no longer could she comprehend anything other than the heat of the fire and the impending doom, and how all of this was her fault.

But then, the little witch had felt the powerful and comforting hands of her grandfather reach around her small body and pull her away from the flames. He took the young witch out of the burning house and out onto the lawn, her dark brown hair now with a filmy layer of smoke attached to it and her glacial blue eyes burning as tears continued to stream down it. Her grandparents continued to keep their arms wrapped around the brunette child, wiping the tears from her silver blue eyes as the fire truck and its fire fighters arrived.

They never discovered the source of the fire.

Just like they will probably never discover the source of this fire the glacier eyes witch has now started. She feels her body fading, glacial blue eyes still remaining closed underneath those dark lashes. 'This is what dying feels like', she remembers thinking. 'Well, if this is dying, it isn't so bad,' she thinks before letting herself drift away.

She doesn't hear when the were dog breaks his way into her home, and she doesn't see when he arrives in all his knight in shining armor glory, and she doesn't feels when he lifts her limp body and carries her out of the house. But then, it slow starts to come back to her. The grass tickling underneath her, the stinging stench of smoke burning in her nostrils. The gentle touch of someone brushing her dark hair away from those closed silvery blue eyes. As he shakes her shoulder, those glacier blue eyes begin to flutter open. Those dark lashes blinking slowly open and close until glacier blues finally remain open as she focuses on the man's face. "Whaaa," she stumbles out the word in a muffled stutter. Those sky blue eyes slowly looking around, trying to keep them open, but they sting with smoke and heat. And then she begins to cough, it felt like the fire had scored her throat. "No," she says between coughs. "Im the," she coughs once more. "Only one." Those bright blue eyes squint with pain. She coughs a few more times, the fit lasting for some time as one would expect after someone had just emerged from a fire. Silver blue eyes finally begin to focus on the man who saved her though as the fire trucks arrives and leap into action. One of the firemen makes his way over to the pair. "Alright, we are gonna have to check you over to make sure you are okay. Is this your house?" He asks. Kathryn nodded in response, making a move to stand, but feeling herself go light headed as she accidentally leans against Ashton for some sort of support. But as the fire fighter reaches out to help her, the young witch feels herself reaching out towards the man. "Will you stay with me?" She asks, and even then the young witch is not sure why she asks him such a thing. She didn't know this man, she didn't even know his name. But she knew she didn't want him to leave her all alone.
