Hawethorn Village

Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

death incarnate & night triumphant

His very frame was hot. That magic not so dancing near the surface, settled for the moment after such exertion. Still, he wouldn't deny that it didn't feel good to allow the dark affinity to be released, it always felt nice to occasionally destroy something; not that Andras cared to do that often. Yet, he could still feel the phantom blood of the faeries he had killed on the night of Lani's change, using that wicked affinity of his to obliterate them to pieces. The High Lord still couldn't come to find any pity within his heart for his actions. Feeling that hand on his shoulder brings him back to reality, the faerie so lost within his own mind, though he hardly responds to Matteo, at least not yet. The sound of dripping water within the confines of his kitchen is a constant in the background, the damage in there quite severe, to the point that water was already beginning to pour out into the living area, the liquid reaching for their shoes. Ignoring it, he finally looks up at the elder faerie and speaks, his vulnerability so clear within his features.

As Matteo begins to respond, Andras can't help but believe him. He knew the man wasn't lying to him before, nothing would have changed the future and yet, he had let his temper best him. Relaxing his shoulders a bit, he nods at the man briefly, "I certainly hope so, it practically pains me to not talk to her," he admits with a sigh, running his fingers through his disheveled hair. "It's hard to be in Somnia when she is there, there's nothing more that I want to do than to touch and hold her," he states before glancing up to see Matteo with a smile dancing upon his lips. It wasn't that smirk that Andras so wanted to tear off his face moments ago, but an understanding smile, something that softened the seer before him. Offering another nod, he stands up as he apologizes, noting the water about his feet for the first time as Matteo responds, "Ah, you're right," Andras says lifting a foot from the water, not quite deep enough to soak into his shoes, but it would be several inches deep if he didn't hurry.

"This house is more or less a front, I don't stay here often with my home in Somnia, it's only when I have business to attend to in the city," he states as he makes his way down the hall to the utility closet to retrieve a deck brush and a mop and bucket. Traveling back down the hallway, he tucks his wings in tight to avoid knocking anything else off the wall, not that it mattered. Leaning the items in the kitchen, he watches the water waterfall from the pipes, the High Lord sighing as he takes in the damaged sight, "I can't remember the last time I threw a magical tantrum," he says as Matteo chuckles. Turning to look at the man, Andras can't help but allow a small simper to find his own lips as he shrugs at Matteo. His next words take Andras off guard as the man pauses in his movements, the faerie meeting Matteo's unique eyes in that moment. His own broken chuckle escapes his lips in that moment as he nods his head, "You weren't wrong, I did need a bit of release and to... yell, as you so put it," he states, amused.

"I had guessed that you and my mother had been lovers, though I didn't realize it was to that extent. I can't imagine any child wants to hear what their mother's do behind close doors," he makes a bit of a face at his own statement, "Though, she did mention once or twice, not by name but I put two and two together. And what you two did isn't my concern, it's in the past," he says, another soft smile tugging at the corner of his lips, though it vanishes at the thought of his father. "As for my father... thank you. I am thankful I didn't turn out like him, he was a cruel man with no care to anyone else besides his own agenda. He viewed my mother as a possession and I can't deny that he didn't love her... he simply loved her in a way that I can't understand," he sighs, a bit conflicted at the memories of his parents. "If I'm being honest, Matteo, I'm glad my mother had you," he states before finally allowing his wings to sink into his back once more.

"I'm going to go find the water shut off, it's somewhere in the garage," he says, changing the subject as he sets off in the opposite direction down the hall, grasping the door to the garage and opening it. Freezing almost instantly, his eyes glue to the open portal within the confines of the room. He hadn't left it open, did he? "Matteo...," he pauses, glancing over his shoulder, "You didn't, by chance, use the portal, did you?" He asks casually, though there is a bit of strain to his lyrics. He never showed Matteo the portal, though the man had his own affinities, he easily could have seen it in his visions. Yet, he very much doubted Matteo would use it without, at least, speaking to Andras first. Gaze turning back to the black portal, he allows his brain to run through the last day. Perhaps he did leave it open in his... distraction.
