Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
Henry had hoped his honesty would be well-received. He had tried to look for Sterling. He called every hospital in the area and had been told that he was not there. Whether or not Sterling had been listed as a "no info" patient or the secretaries were simply incompetent was yet to be determined, but it had resulted in Henry thinking that Sterling had died. After all, a dead man would not be listed in the census. "Sterling, I swear I checked every hospital. No one had record of you being a patient. I couldn't bring myself to come back to the apartment - too many memories. It was just too painful." He sighed. He hated seeing Sterling so upset, but he wanted the man to realize that he had truly tried to find him, and that he had been grieving as well. "If I had known you were alive, I would have come back sooner - I would have been there for you as you were for me." He had surprised the man when he showed up in his apartment several months ago. Neither was expecting the other and Henry's surprise that Sterling had been alive was genuine. But apparently, none of that mattered to Sterling. He was still hung up on the fact that during his grief, Henry had tried anything and everything to drown out the pain and sorrow.
But Sterling wanted answers, answers that Henry didn't really want to give him. But he had said that he would be honest with Sterling, even if he hated the words that left his lips.
The moment Malia's name had left his lips, he could hear the scoff and looked up to watch Sterling as he leaned against the window. He wanted to tell his boyfriend that he would get sick sitting by the window, but he knew that now was not the time. He was so distracted by watching Sterling's body language that he failed to listen to all the questions. It was a good thing too, because he would have not liked to answer them both. "It was only twice. We weren't in a relationship or anything. She wanted to know what it felt like, and I was grieving and high. I'm not sleeping with her now, I swear it." He was trying to explain himself, but he felt as though Sterling was slipping further and further from his grasp. "I told her that she deserved to find what I had found with you. I told her I only wanted to be friends and she understood that. I want her to be happy, Sterling - but I told her that couldn't be with me. You have my heart - my whole heart." Even if both their hearts were breaking, Sterling still had every single piece.
