Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

She didn't know what to expect from this meeting in his office and it made her fidgety, her weight shifting in the chair only moments after she sat down, eying that pen in his fingers like he might very well just aim it at her at any moment. She wasn't claustrophobic and yet the idea of sitting in an office talking made her feel like she might be. Was it just nerves? Most likely. She felt Frost's judging gaze as he moved from her disheveled hair to her bare feet, his brow lifting in question and yet she curled up the corner of her lips in a smirk and rolled her shoulders in a shrug. Obviously, it was nothing new for her to be barefoot since it was a known fact she hated shoes in general and yet she'd tell him the whole boring tale if he really wanted to know. When she asked about the weapon in his hand though, he stopped twirling it and snorted, amusement glittering in his eyes as he shook his head.

He told her not today but that he'd keep her eagerness in mind. She grinned a little at the idea of actually getting to stab someone with a pen. But then he said he wanted to talk about the pack and her place in it. Her brows instantly furrowed and if she had her fur right now, it'd be standing on end. Questions sprang to life in her eyes as she felt her fingers tense on the arms of the chair. Was she about to get kicked out of the pack? Did he not think she belonged there anymore? She didn't even pay attention to the part where he said she was late. Her head was still trying to wrap around her place in the pack as a thoughtful scowl marked her features. She all of a sudden felt her chest grow tight and her breath came a little more shallow. She found herself entranced with every movement of his fingers, the suspense killing her as he set the pen down.

She expected anything but the next words he spoke. Henry? How did they get to this subject? Her brows furrowed even more, her scowl deepening as she shook her head. "No, I haven't seen him since the dinner." She listened carefully thought as he said that he had no regrets for what he said. Her curiosity only built inside her and she found herself hoping Frost hadn't ruined their friendship by being protective over her. She knew he only meant well but how would Henry do with confrontation, and from an alpha, no less? Would he still be her friend? She listened as Frost told her that he had no problem with their friendship but didn't want her hurt. She'd known that all along, even though she'd already told Frost that she didn't love Henry, at least not like that. He was her best friend and that's it.

He told her that he'd already lost a Beta to it, a point that they'd never talked about before. Her brow lifted in question. Who was this Beta and what happened? But then he said he wouldn't lose a second the same way and she felt perplexed again. A second what? Beta? What was he talking about? She wasn't even aware he had a Beta, unless Nadya was in that slot. But then wouldn't he be calling himself the useless boy? That made no sense. As his brow lifted, she was aware there was something she was supposed to be reading out of this, something important. Only as her gaze widened in surprise and she gasped, did he go on to confirm what she was only just beginning to grasp. She was sure by this point she was leaving indents of her fingers in his chair arms as she inhaled sharply.

"Are you serious? You want me....as your Beta?" It warmed her heart that Nadya had agreed with the decision. Her approval meant a lot to Malia. She looked down for a minute, trying to compose herself before she looked back up at him. "Does this mean I get an office and a pen too?" She couldn't help herself, her lips curling into a smirk as her eyes twinkled with mischief. Oh, the things she could with an office and a pen. She could hold her own "meetings." She could stab someone!
