Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
I found a book about cooking and I'm currently in my room cuddled up on my bed reading it. I'm trying to learn how to cook a few simple things so I can help Raven out around the house. I don't want her to think I'm just taking advantage of her hospitality and I plan on living here scot free. That's not what I want. I want to be of service. I already offered to help her clean up the upstairs and though she hasn't taken me up there yet to see the damage we have to fix, I'm patient to let her decide when the work should be done. So instead I focus on other things. Like maybe getting a job so I can help her with bills and learning to cook so she doesn't have to do it all the time. As a fox, I'm used to eating raw food but it does taste really good cooked too. I'm extremely focused on a recipe for cheesecake when I hear the front gate open. Jumping up, I run to the window, peeking out to see who's here. I smile when I see Raven, hoping to tell her all about my hopes to help her in the kitchen. But then I see the redhead following in her wake and my eyes widen. Who's this and why is Raven bringing her here? I know from the time I've spent with the curly haired Werewolf that she likes her own privacy. I'm pretty sure the only reason she brought me here was because we share a common past and she felt bad for me because I was alone. Now I'm not alone cause I always have her but what does the other girl have to do with it? I chew my bottom lip as i turn away from the window, wondering if I can just hide in my room until she leaves. I don't have anything against people but I've always been more withdrawn around people I don't know or trust. I hear Raven opening the lock on the door and I hurry back to my bed, gathering up the book in case she comes by my room but instead I hear her call out my name as she walks through the door. I tremble, wondering why I'm needed. I guess I have to meet her. I'm sure to put a bookmark to hold my place as I get off the bed and trudge toward the door. Peeking around the corner slowly, I see Raven and gather my courage, walking toward them with my eyes cast down. As I reach them, I look up at my curly haired host as she starts talking to me, but I don't dare to let my eyes go to the red head just yet. She smells....different. A vampire? My eyes become big brown saucers. She brought a vampire into the house? Doesn't she know they drink blood...from people? That means we're not excluded. I gulp, unable to help the fear building in my chest as I keep watching Raven, wanting reassurance. Finally as she ends her speech, I turn my gaze slowly but surely to the girl she called Isolt. Dipping my head in greeting, I speak softly. "It's...a pleasure to meet you, Isolt." Lifting my gaze back up to her blue eyes, I can't help but ask. "You're not...going to bite us, are you?" I glance at Raven, waiting for her to scold me or something because I'm sure that could be construed as rude. I can't help it. I just want a reassurance, someting to tell me I don't have to sleep with one eye open tonight. |
