Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

sharp objects make me giddy

I knew he wouldn't be that upset over me not being there when he woke up in the morning. Well, let's say afternoon for reality's sake. I know he likes to take sleeping in to a whole new level. He's also known as a lady's man so I'm sure he wasn't all that surprised that I was gone. He probably would have just thrown me out when he woke up anyway. Some awkward silence followed by the "so...." that leads to just as awkward conversation where we try to find something to talk about that doesn't have to do with the naked dance. Anyway, I wanted to pass off on all that so I figured a clean get away was my best bet. Besides, the last thing I want is to get attached. Yes, he was my first. Yes, he made me go against everything I was trained. Yes, he means more to me than he ever should, and yet, I have to fight it. I have to push him away cause what else is there for me? We are both hunters and that alone labels us as dead walking. Yet if I can just teach him to defend himself then I can go back to being solo, the way I've always been.

He's as stubborn as a male though. He looks upon weapons like they're going to bite him and I have yet to actually get him face to face with a supernatural being that needs a good killing. I just hope he doesn't embarrass me and run away screaming like a little girl. I keep trying to pound it into his head but I swear the boy day dreams more than he actually listens. I look up when I hear his car pulling up outside my apartment. It's kind of hard to miss, what with all the engine revving and stuff. I can hear him getting out of the car and walking toward my door and I swear my heart is already racing. I look toward the weapons, trying to plan out when I want to teach him today so I don't think about....other stuff.

By the time he walks through, I've got a particular favorite of mine out, a stiletto knife that I like to run along my finger tips. It keeps my mind occupied. He walks right over to me as I knew he would, ready to take up some room on the couch himself. I smirk at his comment.

"I guess I'll have to learn to share when you learn to fight."

My eyes look up at him daringly. He lifts my legs and I try not to focus on the tingling as his hand touches the bare flesh of my ankles. My own fault for wearing shorts. He sits down and leans back, letting my legs fall across his lap and I try to keep my breathing even. As he looks at the table, I see the flicker of distaste and I can't help but sigh and roll my eyes. Such a pansy sometimes, I swear. He flicks his hand toward the weapons and starts questioning. His comment makes my brow rise in challenge.

"I swear, you are the king of one track minds. And yes, we are going to 'play' with these again. You have to learn how to defend yourself, Kohl."

I say with not just a little exasperation in my voice. I glance out the window, watching the afternoon sun move across the sky. It'll be evening soon enough. I look back at him and grin.

"We're going to train and then...we're going hunting."
