i used to rule the world

There was no denying that Alexander had a particular weakness for the equestrian kind. He had watched the horses come in and out of his father's stable centuries ago. He had seen the horse merchants parade their finest wares before the King of Macedonia and astutely too, the young prince had picked his own fearless steed from the throng. Bucephalus had been tried and true, stubborn and fearless under the right hands - under his hands. There was no replacing that steed - in all the years that had passed since his death upon that fateful battlefield in Hydaspes. That battle alone had been significant, and though their victory was assured it had been hard won, entirely due to his steed's death. Still, despite the loss of his treasured stallion, Alex found himself continually searching for that next diamond in the rough. For the next creature to be tamed and conquered, to be as much of his faithful companion as Bucephalus once had been. He doubted, to some degree, that he might find all of such traits that marked a good equine within that young were-girl he'd lately taken beneath his wing and yet, he was still here regardless with the crunch of gravel under his feet as he made his way towards the stable she had chosen for their venture tonight.
She was, he had long since realized, an intelligent woman, even despite her young age. She seemed disciplined and she picked up easily upon the tasks he had shown her within the cafe itself. The Dark Hunter expected no less from her between rider and horse either. Still, a notion for her use had been toying at his brain for the past twenty four hours, ever since the return of his own 'child' from her trips within the world. Somehow, the beauty had become more the mark of the hunter then she had once she had left him. Her presence here, however, would no doubt be utilized fully by the council if only too for her association with him. After all, Alexander the Great saw fit to truly mentor so few and yet, those he did excelled without a hint of hesitance. Still, for the moment he was content to push such thoughts from his head as he pushed open the barn door, glancing within to the darkened stalls filled with their multi-colored assortment of equines.
The man stepped in, pausing to allow his eyes to adjust to the dim light, gingerly his head reached out to rest upon the forehead of the steed closest towards him, a small simper crossing his features as the horse snorted in response. His feet seemed to echo in the quiet space as he moved through the barn towards the entrance of the indoor ring. "Calliel, I'll be waiting for you outside." He called behind his shoulder, all too aware the girl was
somewhere in the depths of that barn and yet he hardly wished to perturb her if only because he hardly knew what state he would find her in. Instead, the man settled on the edge of the nearby wooden fence, simply enjoying the night air and the cool breeze that the upcoming shift to Autumn brought with it. Alexander had brought nothing with him, no bridal for use, no saddle to put on her back, much less even a blanket. No, he intended fully to start her off slowly and the man was certainly skilled enough to do just that.
