The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

It is a good thing for Archer that he does not know these warriors. There is no past history flashing before his bright blue eyes as he spins, blocks, swipes. All it meant was there were no barriers to get past. No sense of betrayal that burned like acid down the gullet. Judging by the fury with which Blaise attacks it is quite the opposite for her. She is filled with the light of a thousand betrayals, a thousand hurts, and it makes her almost magical. Archer was clinical in his assessments, eyes never trailing away from his adversary even despite the pain that lances in his side. It is a mere inconvenience for the moment although later it would sting like the devil and pull until he might think he was tearing in half.
A battlefield with only two opponents is an oddly quiet place with the exception of the rings of metal against one another and the feral yell of Blaise as she drives towards her opponent. Even as Archer falls into a lower stance, blade an extension of his arm and his glowing eyes fastened upon his enemy, he hears Blaise's request. It makes his teeth clench; holding back when his blood thrummed through his veins and pain focused him was difficult. Training from hundreds of years had not been forgotten and part of his battle motto had been to go for the kill as soon as possible. In wartime the battlefield was littered with foes so spending unnecessary time on one was inexcusable.
For a breif moment there is a heady silence and then they turn and flee into the woodland and Archer is left, bleeding, alone with Blaise. His burning eyes follow their fleeing backs to make sure they aren't trying some trickery. It wouldn't be the first time an enemy has fled only to sneak back around for a cowardly attack in the back. He supposed it was truly cowardly because all was fair in war; strategy mattered more than many might admit. Brute force helped.
He took a few steps closer to Blaise, hand reaching up to grip her chin and turn her head to the side so he could inspect the wound from temple to nostril. It would heal, thanks to their beneficial immortality, but for now it looked nasty. But the edges were not blackened and he could smell no foul stench as he placed his nose close to it, animalistic in nature. Then he steps back with a furrowed brow, hand falling to press against his own side to test the deepness of his own wound. It stung and throbbed, a deep an fervent heartbeat of blood.
