She was so full of....confusion. Her mind positively spinning with it, her concerns all but consuming her as his own affinity so allowed him that window into her tumultuous thoughts. She was nervous, anxious and afraid and yet beneath it all some utter will to survive seemed to tug at her in a manner that was almost admirable. How unfortunate it truly was that Negan had likely all but wrecked the girl. That was all he ever did. Destroyed things without truly appreciating their use, ran them into the ground, used them until there was nothing left. It was effective, Frost supposed and yet how much more effective those methods could be with a little more....tempering, or so to speak. How useful such a woman as this could have been if she was not so annoyingly conflicted and already so filled with hate for the man. Not that Frost supposed he blamed her. He had as little to do with that wretch of a man as possible himself. Still, a job was a job, Frost willing to carry it out for that money- at least to an extent. His curiosity in the little creature remaining even despite her fearsome little snarling display atop that boulder and her apparently preconceived notions of him. How unfortunate- someone it seemed had gotten to her first with apparently every intention of warning her about him. Hmm, his reputation had proceeded him. His tail lashing up at his snowy flanks in some display of discontent before those easy words fell smoothly from his lips, assuring the woman that he was being pleasant- at least for now. That canine scoffing at him before those sarcastic words all but dripped from her lips.
How unfortunate- and he had so been willing to be almost polite to her. He could almost smell that fear upon her, his mere presence before her seeming to set her little heart aflutter and yet for now that hulking stallion made little effort to act on it, Frost merely remaining where he stood, allowing those faint tendrils of power to reach out to that canine and slowly ensnare her form. A failsafe of sorts. He never had been much for gambling. It was far easier to hedge his bets and so assume the woman would prove resistant to him, those tendrils of cold laid like trip lines to begin to creep up her form and further prompt her decision- should it come to it. If she proved further argumentative it would take mere seconds to reduce her to that state of unconsciousness. Negan never did say he required her in working condition. Such an oversight. His words only seemed to further irritate her and tread upon her frayed nerves, Mira so seemingly all but convinced he was a liar. There was perhaps any number of things he might surely be and yet a liar was hardly one of them. Perhaps he so enjoyed those half-truths or indeed his own version of events and yet the stallion was rarely inclined to genuine lies, why should he be? The truth was so often far more entertaining. Frost allowing his own snort to erupt then, those violet eyes rolling somewhere beneath that white forelock that hung across his features and so concealed his gaze from view. Her words so effortlessly turned back upon her then as he offered something almost akin to a horse-like shrug.
"I did not claim I was innocent, nor do I think I have shown you any lack of manners, have I? Tell me, Mira. Do you believe everything you hear? Did the being you heard about me from speak the truth? Do you know it to be true, have you proof? I will tell you the truth, Mira. As no one else will. Every single being in this world will lie to you about something. Every single one."
Was it not true? That single sentence alone perhaps displaying but some of Frost's own outlook on the world itself. Perhaps...once, he could have been something different too. Perhaps once, before he suffered over and over again at the hands of those he was powerless to fight he might have been something other than the very thing he had become. He had survived this long by being smarter then they were- he would simply continue to do so even if that occasional being of innocence so happened to present a roadblock as Mira did now. She was a means to an end, nothing more, she had no use to him- at least, not yet. Those words rose easily from within himself once more, the stallion so showing his metaphorical hand in that moment, Mira's gaze near boring into his own, Frost wholly content to meet it as those cool words slipped towards her. The wolf assuring him he had another thing coming if he thought he could freeze her, that mention of Negan seeing her pause then, that singular word so apparently holding an effect over her. That wolf seemed all the more irritable then and yet for that moment I hardly seemed as if it was aimed at him, rather, that anger seemed to flare at Negan. Frost distinctly aware of that shift in the woman's body temperature. A flare of heat. That was....unusual. Anger so had a habit of heating a person and yet not with that sort of spike. Somewhere beneath that forelock his own eyes narrowed and yet for now in the least he offered it no reaction. The stallion merely watching her now as she shouted about Negan not having the balls to come himself.
"Of course he didn't, are you even surprised? Besides, he couldn't find you, he wont screw me over because he can't- simply, because I know every though in his little head before he has it. As for money, well, money is money- and this is easy money."
He spoke easily once more, that tone near expressionless, blank and cold as his form shifted forward to allow those heavily feathered hooves to carry him forward to circle around that boulder. Frost shifting those roles of predator and prey. One ear remained trained to her as he moved, Frost monitoring that heat signature as it continued to rise, almost as if she sought to combat that heat. Was she aware of this power? Did she know she was doing it or had anger merely taken her? How useful a power this could be if only trained right. How unfortunate she seemed so determined to be obstinate. She was stronger then she knew. Stronger then Frost was willing to allow her to believe she was. What did he want from her? Some part of his lip quirked upward, the woman doing as so many before her did and seizing upon that single 'out' he had provided her. Frost entirely willing to screw Negan over here and now if so given the opportunity and yet that so depend upon Mira herself.
"A favour. That's all. Not here and not now. In a few months perhaps- one favour you will do for me without question and for the price of that you can go. For the price of that I tell Negan you aren't in this city anymore."
Wasn't it just so easy? Just so simple? One favour. One favour in which he had so omitted any details and yet surely such an offer was far more tempting then engaging him here and now, the woman suddenly declaring she wasn't cold. Frost hardly surprised, his own chilling effects all but made redundant in the wake of whatever it was that seemed to have encompassed her body. That canine appearing to be made out of....molten. Frost assured this was not his power. The man considering how much of his own talent it might take to cool her down- a significant effort to be sure and yet perhaps it would simply be easier to appeal to her own mistake. Her paws sizzled upon that stone, the stallion could near feel that heat from her body, the equine assured touching her would surely be....imprudent. One of her paws lashed out, that molten flicking towards him, several of those drops falling against the pallor of his own fur- that sudden burning sensation seeing his head fling upward, that stallion dancing widely several steps sideways in a single break in that composure. This....was unanticipated. That lava a veritable shield, those few places those drops had touched him have burned away fur and flesh to leave two small, weeping and blistering wounds that stung even now as his body rapidly worked to heal them.
His own affinity turned readily inward, the man hardly sure whether or not he could heat his own frame to such levels and yet he could better match her temperature if only as a mechanism for his own defence, his own form rapidly beginning to radiate heat then. Why not let her think it was him? Why not let her fear that power? He was as capable of bringing heat as he was cold, he merely needed her to simply....believe him.
"I don't think I will 'stop it', not just yet. Of course, if you agree to my deal I will stop. If you don't perhaps I will simply allow your blood to boil, or see how long it takes you to pass out from that heat so encompassing you."
That heat she had surrounded herself in, he suspected, hardly felt hot to her in any sense. Her body surely designed to protect itself and yet that hardly meant he couldn't warm her a little, at least- enough to assure she continued to believe this was his doing. Frost so abruptly shifting his own power to press that warmth inside her body- letting her feel as if she was getting a little to hot. The sooner he got her to agree the better. After all, the girl finding out it was her power and not his would be decidedly....unfortunate.
