South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

It wasn't her idea to spend a few hours within the hellhole called Syn. Truly that particular area was not a place she enjoyed to be in. The flashing lights, the loud music, the scent of various body odors that did nothing but choke her, and the intense slimy crowd...she just didn't like the touching. The only reason why she would slide her way inside this horrendous place was to perform a task she had done a few weeks prior. The aloof woman was sitting at the bar nursing a rather large dose of single malt Scotch while Lucian's 'associate' was trying, again, to bounce the coin from the bar top into the tumbler on the other side. The grey fox she had met the last time was nowhere to be found to be her saving grace. Instead of relying on help tonight she had to figure out her own way. It wasn't like her to allow another to suffer, but really she was suffering so much more than Lucian's friend would experience in the morning as he dealt with the hangover he would receive. Long nimble fingers slid near the pile of coins that were dumped on the bar-top, quietly bouncing the coin perfectly into the wooden surface, allowing it to fly towards the tumbler, a ghost of a smile would flicker on her lips when she heard the pleasing sound of metal crashing into glass. With another shot of whiskey placed before him and another gargling sound coming from his throat, blue-grey eyes narrowed as she watched him take his shot before his head slammed into the bar-top. His sluggish form tumbled over, and he would fall into the sticky ground. Without a second to spare she would dismount from her stool and silently weave her way through the throng of people, wincing as the music seemed to continue to deafen her ears. Reaching the safety of the darkest corners of the wall, she would inch her way slowly towards the door before a familiar tall figure stopped her. Her head would tilt upwards seeing the familiar shaggy dark locks she had cleaned a few nights ago. Eyes shifted towards the unruly chaotic crowd, noticing that the entire place seemed to be carried away far more than usual. Brushing her shoulder next to his arm she would speak up softly, loud enough for the WereLeopard to hear.

"Think you can get away for a few hours? I have a surprise for you."

Really the surprise could have waited any other night during the summer, but seeing how he was blocking her pathway to freedom and with the club being rowdier than usual, she figured he could use a little breath of fresh air. Stepping past him she would slip through the door, turning her head slightly to see him follow her. As soon as the metal door slammed shut Raven would walk in the middle of the street feeling her bones begin to shift and that ever familiar throbbing sensation as she fell to the ground on all fours. Shaking her skull her lithe frame would shake back and forth, as if to wipe away the stench and filth she felt when she entered the club. With a flick of her fluffy grey and black plume, a dashing grin was given to her feline counterpart before racing off towards the outskirts. Her pace would slacken, only when he was at her side lowering her head and allowing him to be a few inches ahead of her, just enough to keep him satisfied. It had taken a few snarls and bashings from his paws prior to this run, but she had learned quite quickly he didn't like it when she was ahead of him.

Eventually she would lead him through a quiet meadow that was hidden quite well from others through the thicker trees. There were hardly strong scents within her area except for her own. It was not her territory, but it was a safe haven she had found for herself on accident, and a place where she had seen something she hadn't seen since she was a pup. Noiseless grey paws would stop along the invisible line between the woods and the meadow, standing stock still as a thick mist began to settle. Knowing full well what was hiding in the misty meadow she would crane her head forward, her cold nose pointing towards the fields. With such a kind command, her light voice would pierce through his mind gently a wolfish grin thrown his way.

"If you run through the tall grasses...you will see your surprise...trust me."

As soon as the Tobi would go through the tall grasses, his swift actions would bring the fireflies out from their hiding place. A breadth of these tiny bugs of light would spring from the safety of the thick foliage their soft light brightening up the area, just barely. How could a cat resist a bunch of buzzing and flickering lights flying and spinning around them?
