The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.
The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.
Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.
The University of Sacrosanct offers some of the top programs in the nation with its outstanding campus and specialized faculty. She had been distracted all day.
Miya had only known for a few days that Arlo was... well, a vampire. She still didn't quite believe - I mean, she couldn't believe it. The small Asian woman was positive she was beginning to show symptoms of a mental illness. It was possible, she could be delusional, though there was no history of mental illness in her family as far she knew. However, it had to start somewhere. Mi didn't feel like she was insane, she knew what she saw was true even if she hadn't quite come to terms with it. She went even as far as to take her roommate's pulse and lo and behold he was ice cold and dead.
Shuddering at the memory, she wasn't necessarily frightened of Arlo, she didn't think he would hurt her but everything she had ever known had been ripped out from beneath her like a rug. She now had to replay every interaction she had with everyone she met in Sacrosanct, yet there was nothing that made them stand out.
Grumbling to herself, she quickly finishes her shift at work, clocking out and exits through the front doors. It had been a rather slow night and nothing unusual had happened. Of course, she was glad it wasn't busy â€" it meant people weren't hurting themselves and didn't need medical attention but it still made the night go by slowly. She had hoped she would bury herself in her work so that she didn't have to think about anything but her job, yet, memories of Arlo still filled her mind. She continued to replay the regrowth of his skin on repeat in her mind. It just wasn't possible.
Snuggling into her jacket, she buries her nose beneath the collar in an attempt to ward off the cold breeze that began shortly after she left work. She should have taken a taxi home but she needed the fresh air to clear her mind even if it was cold. Taking a turn off into the park, she knew it was faster though it wasn't the wisest decision, she felt confident in her abilities of self-defense. Plus, she always carried that small bottle of pepper spray in her bag, which she quickly digs out and shoves in her pocket, holding the canister firmly in her hand, hidden from sight. Feeling safer already with the small container in her hand, she again allows her mind to wander, not particularly paying attention to her surroundings.
Coming to an abrupt halt as a thought suddenly crosses her mind, "It has to be a joke. There's no way..." she mutters to herself, her brows furrowing in contemplation at the ground. "Good evening, darling," a velvety smooth voice announces itself directly in front of her. Jerking her head up, Miya back pedals wildly nearly falling over as her heartrate spikes in fear. "Good lord! You came out of nowhere! Are you trying to scare me?" she snaps at the man before her, one hand reaching up to clutch at her chest as her heart hammers.
As she struggles to get her breathing under control, between one blink and the next, the man is directly in front of her, nearly flush against her body, his frozen fingers grasping her chin painfully. Flinching at the ice-cold touch, she looks up, unable to move for a moment as he grins dangerously down at her. Her assailant doesn't say a word to her and instead begins to lower his face to hers, which in turn, kicks her into action. Jerking her chin defiantly away from his grip, she takes a step back, removing the canister from her pocket and spraying the man directly in his face.
There's a strangled cry as she drops the, now empty, pepper spray, her own throat burning with the intense spray, a cough threatening to release from her throat. Turning on a heel, she flees as quickly as she can and manages barely ten feet before the stranger practically appears in front of her, a very, very angry look curling on his features. Stumbling back a few feet, her chocolate eyes widen in terror, but she manages to swallow the fear down enough and plant herself defiantly in front of him. Running through the list of moves she had been taught, it was that moment of distraction that she found herself somehow locked in her assailant's arms.
Her bag falling to the ground, she parts her lips to release that scream that was building up in her but it is snatched away by his hand clamping across her mouth. "I shall very much enjoy this," he hisses in her ear, his fangs elongating as he slowly descends on her neck.
