The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.
The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.
Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

PhD in Plant Biology Abigail Hughes
She heard Andras voice to her that he was at her disposal and she could use his knowledge as she wished. Little did he know, she would from then on pester him to high heaven with all the questions she had already brooded over in her own mind. She listened to Andras laughingly mention her invading his bubble when she decided to yet again, get as close as she could to examine his face. Embarrassed, she felt her cheeks go beet red. Even though she was desensitized to most things, she could still get flustered. Especially when someone made the point to mention her inability to grasp simple social etiquette. In the end, she was stubborn enough to hold face and keep as still as a statue to show that she was not outwardly bothered by his mention of her poor social skills. Holding her stance and remaining in the position of almost stepping on his toes, she stood silently as she heard Andras speak of how she caused him to remember a certain person of his past due to their likeness. It appeared that he played it off cool, but under the surface of his smirk seemed to express seriousness beneath his tone and mannerisms that she carefully noticed. She knew it was best not to ask about his past interactions so early in becoming acquaintances. That social cue, was one she had the capability of grasping. "How many faeries reside in your court?" she wondered. She had listened as he made mention that their race was starting to become extinct. For a fleeting moment, she finally detected a crack in the man's almost perfect façade. Even though it was just a speck of time, she noticed he had appeared just as vulnerable as she did with a recognizable far-off look in his eyes. At that instance, she experienced a sensationally obscure feeling of concern towards the gentleman. The twinkle that appeared in his eye wasn't that of someone remembering a happy memory. It was in fact, of someone recalling an experience that had more heartache than anything. "Is it due to the fact that there aren't enough fae's mating?" she inquired. Any awkwardness that that certain conversation would otherwise have did not exist within this one. Her mention of it was purely curiosity and pursuit of further knowledge. Shaking her head in disgust she vocalized, "Can you even imagine who would choose to go through the ritual to become a fae?" "Being essentially immortal isn't all that it's cracked up to be. You must live a thousand lives. You must watch those you care about grow old and die. You must experience that over and over, and over again. You must always be as changing as nature is. I mean, for most that must be unimaginable, and I doubt that many faeries here are created based upon the ritualistic methods. Perhaps...I am wrong though since I am deciding based purely from opinion and experience. What do you think?" she squints back at the clear pond awaiting his response back to her plethora of questions. Listening to the midnight grass rustle about, she speaks in a hushed tone, "All that it leads to is loneliness ultimately. Memories become hard to recall past a certain point. The ones I want to remember make it seem as if it was another life," she sighed. Half-heartedly laughing she adds in, "I mean, I guess it was another lifetime if we're being technical." Retreating back to the moonlit pond she asks Andras to join her. "Come here," she insists. "Look at this pond. Do you think that it will last forever? No. It will dry up and become an empty bed of dried dirt. Yet in however many years it takes, it will become a pond again, filled with water for others to experience. Us faeries can never go through that cycle unless we are exposed to a certain material, iron. I'm sure you are already aware of that much though," she playfully looks up at him motioning him to sit beside her by the pond. "My question is, why is it that we are stripped away of this right? Why is it that those who are born do not get the chance of deciding whether or not we can participate in the cycle of life? Why is it that we are damned from the start," she declares as her voice starts to break. As the silence becomes a thick fog surrounding them, Navi takes a moment to collect her emotions and like Andras, put on the façade she has practiced all too well. Poking the water to create numerous ripples across the glassy surface of the water she turns to Andras and announces an unexpected response to his ultimate question. "I will join your court. Only, as a place to live. I will not take part in any meetings or whatever you may hold. If that means I do not have to travel and find a place to rest my head I will go. The wind was growing colder as the seasons change anyways," she softly spoke. "I do not owe you a thing for this." Proclaiming with a cynical expression on her face. "I will, try my best to earn my keep. I would expect it if the roles were reversed," she mentioned. That was the closest thing Navi could get to saying thank you. "Oh, and isn't there usually a queen to rule a monarchy?" Not awaiting a response back, she pushes herself back up to stand and with an unusual smile, "Well, let's get a move on to wherever the court is mister Andras." |
