South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Ascension Center of Equitation

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

For the most part, Malia felt she actually handled her shifting in front of her rather well, considering. She ould have screamed bloody murder and took off down the street never to be seen or heard from again, but instead she stumbled back and stared at Malia like she'd just grown three heads. Not too bad, considering. Malia never considered that Miyako might have only recently found out that supernaturals exist in this world, let alone that she might know one. And a different kind of supernatural at that. Malia only knew that Were's existed. She'd never met a vampire or witch, at least not at this point. She couldn't understand Miyako's sense of being overwhelmed, of feeling like the only normal one. As far as Malia was concerned, she was a Were in a world of humans, her kind a minority.

At least Miyako seemed to get over her fear pretty quickly, at least of her. She seemed only uncertain of what it all meant, that Malia was anything but human. But she accepted it rather quickly. Malia didn't think too much on that though. She was too relieved that Miyako wouldn't write her of as a friend over this. She tried to make jokes, anything to lighten the mood so they could go back to gossiping and laughing like friends do. There was a tension and she didn't like it. She was more than relieved when Miyako suddenly asked to see her fully shift into a coyote. She welcomed this curiosity of what she was, taking it as a good sign. If Miyako wasn't too scared to see her shift then they could continue being friends. It wasn't a deal breaker.

Miyako told her it wouldn't be today that she wanted to see her shift and Malia nodded. "Okay." She accepted, though now she was a little eager to show this world to Miyako. She wanted her friend to really see her as she was most comfortable, to feel comfortable in her feral skin. She watched as Miyako relaxed her grip on her bag, again wondering what was so important in it that Miyako would grab it so fiercely when the guys were harassing her. Miyako suddenly asked if she practiced often and Malia nodded immediately. "All the time. It's easier to get around in the woods in my coyote form and easier to blend into the human world in my...well, this form." She held ut her arms as if presenting herself to Miyako. She grinned.

Miyako asked if it hurt and Malia's face sobered as she nodded. "It did at first. I really had to concentrate and you could actually feel each of your bones shift and change. It was....agonizing. But it got better. The more I shifted, the easier it was for the bones to slip into place and change. I guess it's kind of like muscle memory. But now, I'm almost a pro at it." She announced proudly. When she asked about food, she was relieved to hear Miyako say there was a diner around the corner and she wanted a coffee. Malia didn't know what that was but at least Miyako still wanted to hang out with her. She hoped she hadn't said too much when talking about shifting. She all but beamed in Miyako's direction when she slipped her arm back through Malia's as if trying to prove that they would continue to be friends. She fell into stride with Miyako, feeling every bit as if it was just another day.
